  1. 21. Essays on collaborative processes among SMEs for competitiveness development

    Author : Johan Johansson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Entreprenörskap och innovation; Entrepreneurship and Innovation;

    Abstract : This thesis examine some important fundaments of collaborative processes, the drivers for inter-organizational collaboration and the logic behind how such processes can be important for competitiveness development. The thesis particularly emphasizes collaboration among small and medium sized firms (SMEs), collaboration as a process (that takes place among various actors, such as SMEs, large companies, universities and/or public actors) and takes a specific view from a resource-based perspective. 2. 22. Structural Adaptation of DNA to Small Ligands and Recombination Proteins

    Author : Hye-Kyung Kim; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; triplex DNA; groove binders; intercalators; SANS; DNA; optical spectroscopy; recombination proteins;

    Abstract : In order to contribute to the understanding of mechanisms of recognition in nucleic acid systems, the interaction of DNA with a variety of ligands, representing different cases of adaptation of the double-helix structure, was studied using flow linear dichroism (LD), circular dichroism (CD), fluorescence and absorption spectroscopic techniques. A chiral hydrophobic metal complex, [Ru(dpphen)3]2+ was examined, since this had been reported to be the most efficient molecule to discriminate DNA handedness. READ MORE

  3. 23. Atomic decomposition of molecular properties

    Author : Ignat Harczuk; Hans Ågren; Olav Vahtras; Per-Olof Åstrand; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Teoretisk kemi och biologi; Theoretical Chemistry and Biology;

    Abstract : In this thesis, new methodology of computing properties aimed for multipleapplications is developed. We use quantum mechanics to compute propertiesof molecules, and having these properties as a basis, we set up equations basedon a classical reasoning. READ MORE

  4. 24. No Researcher Is an Island : Collaboration in Higher Education Institutions

    Author : Maria Ljunggren; Hans Westlund; Tuzin Baycan; KTH; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Collaboration; External social capital; Higher Education Institutions; Innovation policy; Innovation system; Internal social capital; Research and teaching links;

    Abstract : The developing knowledge economy affects organizations within the innovation system where higher education institutions (HEI) are regarded as a significant part. There is a large amount of research that focus on different aspects of collaboration such as the outcome, the process and its infrastructure. READ MORE

  5. 25. Determinants of ligand-induced nuclear receptor activation

    Author : Tove Östberg; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The nuclear receptors (NRs) constitute a highly conserved superfamily of transcription factors restricted to metazoans. In general, these receptors are regulated by small lipophilic molecules such as steroids, thyroid hormones and retinoids and play an important role in cellular regulation. READ MORE
