  1. 1. Two-Level Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm for Risk-Based Life Cycle Cost Analysis

    Author : Yamur K. Al-Douri; Uday Kumar; Jan Lundberg; Hussan Hamodi; Ahmed Al-Dubai; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Artificial intelligence AI ; Life cycle cost LCC ; Machine learning ML ; Multi-objective genetic algorithm MOGA ; Risk-based life cycle cost LCC ; Tunnel fans; Two-level system; Operation and Maintenance Engineering; Drift och underhållsteknik;

    Abstract : Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the fields in science and engineering and encompasses a wide variety of subfields, ranging from general areas (learning and perception) to specific topics, such as mathematical theorems. AI and, specifically, multi-objective genetic algorithms (MOGAs) for risk-based life cycle cost (LCC) analysis should be performed to estimate the optimal replacement time of tunnel fan systems, with a view towards reducing the ownership cost and the risk cost and increasing company profitability from an economic point of view. 2. 2. Modeling pooling and perishable items in inventory systems

    Author : Patrik Tydesjö; Produktionsekonomi; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; two level; perishable items; Inventory control; newsboy model; emergency supply; stochastic; lateral transshipments; upstream customer demand.;

    Abstract : This thesis is built on three papers considering different problems in inventory control. The first paper considers a two-location newsboy model with the possibility of making lateral transshipments when needed. Usually, when considering newsboy models it is assumed that all demand in a period occurs at once. READ MORE

  3. 3. Compiler Generation for Data-Parallel Programming Languages from Two-Level Semantics Specifications

    Author : Johan Ringström; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : This thesis is an empirical study of compiler generation for data-parallel languages from denotational-semantics-based formal specifications. We investigate whether compiler generation from such specifications is practical, not only with respect to generation of practical compilers, but also with respect to compilation of programs into efficient code and execution of the compiled programs on massively parallel SIMD (Single Instruction Multiple Data) architectures. 5. 5. Modulation, efficiency and lifetime of two-level and multilevel converters for a hydropower application

    Author : Chengjun Tang; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Pumped-storage hydropower; pulse width modulation; losses; modular multilevel converter; efficiency; variable speed; converter; lifetime; space vector modulation; thermal modelling; neutral point clamped converter;

    Abstract : Along with the integration of the renewable energy in the electrical grid, the pumped-storage hydropower has gained more and more attention due to its fast response and energy storage ability. To have a higher overall efficiency and more flexibility of the system, variable speed is preferred in the operation of the pumped-storage hydropower applications. READ MORE
