  1. 1. A lighter UDP

    Author : Lars-Åke Larzon; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : With the advent of IP telephony and other real time multimedia applications running atop new wireless networks, new problems arise for the traditional Internet stack of protocols. Network and transport protocol support for these new applications has not yet been fully developed and optimized. READ MORE

  2. 2. Gene regulation of UDP-glucose synthesis and metabolism in plants

    Author : Henrik Johansson; Pierdomenica Perata; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Molecular biology; antisense; Arabidopsis thaliana; carbohydrate; hybrid aspen; photosynthesis; poplar; sugar; UDP-glucose; UDP-glucose pyrophosphorylase; UDP-glucose dehydrogenase; Molekylärbiologi; Molecular biology; Molekylärbiologi; molekylärbiologi; Molecular Biology;

    Abstract : Photosynthesis captures light from the sun and converts it into carbohydrates, which are utilised by almost all living organisms. The conversion between the different forms of carbohydrates is the basis to form almost all biological molecules. READ MORE

  3. 3. Plant UDP-glucose Pyrophosphorylase : Function and Regulation

    Author : Meng Meng; Leszek Kleczkowski; Javier Pozueta-Romero; Umeå universitet; []

    Abstract : UDP-glucose pyrophosphorylase (UGPase) is an important enzyme of carbohydrate metabolism in all living organisms. The main aim of this thesis was to investigate the function and regulation of plant UGP genes as well as the UGPase proteins. READ MORE

  4. 4. UDP-sugar metabolizing pyrophosphorylases in plants : formation of precursors for essential glycosylation-reactions

    Author : Daniel Decker; Leszek A. Kleczkowski; Henrik Vibe Schelle; Umeå universitet; []

    Abstract : UDP-sugar metabolizing pyrophosphorylases provide the primary mechanism for de novo synthesis of UDP-sugars, which can then be used for myriads of glycosyltranferase reactions, producing cell wall carbohydrates, sucrose, glycoproteins and glycolipids, as well as many other glycosylated compounds. The pyrophosphorylases can be divided into three families: UDP-Glc pyrophosphorylase (UGPase), UDP-sugar pyrophosphorylase (USPase) and UDP-N-acety lglucosamine pyrophosphorylase (UAGPase), which can be discriminated both by differences in accepted substrate range and amino acid sequences. 5. 5. Novel functions of cardiovascular P2 receptors

    Author : Anna-Karin Wihlborg; Kardiologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cardiovascular system; Kardiovaskulära systemet; mRNA; EDHF; UTP; UDP; ADP; ATP; P2 receptor; contraction; dilatation; endothelial cells; Heart; VSMC;

    Abstract : The aim of the thesis was to examine the expression and function of the extracellular nucleotide P2 receptors in the cardiovascular system. In the cardiovascular system nucleotides are released during shear stress, hypoxia, ischemia, from endothelial cells, smooth muscle cells, aggregating platelets, inflammatory cells and erythrocytes.
