1. A search for ultra-high energy neutrinos with AMANDA-II
Abstract : High-energy neutrinos are capable of carrying information over vast distances, and neutrino telescopes such as AMANDA-II provide the means to probe deep inside the violent and energetic interior of the universe. AMANDA-II is located in the glacial ice at South Pole in Antarctica and is optimised to detect Cherenkov emission from neutrino-induced muon tracks with energies above 100 GeV. READ MORE

2. Biological effects of high energy radiation and ultra high dose rates
Abstract : Recently a powerful electron accelerator, 50 MeV race-track microtron, has been taken into clinical use. This gives the opportunity to treat patients with higher x-ray and electron energies than before. Furthermore, treatments can be performed were the entire fractional dose can be delivered in parts of a second. READ MORE

3. Experimental Investigation of ultra-high fuel injection pressure spray for GDI engines
Abstract : Gasoline Direct Injection Engines (GDI) for passenger cars currently use fuel injection systems operating at pressures of up to 350 bar. Injection pressures have increased over time, and there is evidence that particulate emissions could be reduced by raising them further, up to 500 bar. READ MORE

4. On the Analysis of Energy Efficient Aircraft Engines
Abstract : Aero engine performance analysis is highly multidimensional using various measures of component performance such as turbomachinery and mechanical efficiencies, and pressure loss coefficients. Using conventional performance analysis, relying on only the laws of thermodynamics, it is possible to understand how the performance parameters affect the component performance, but it is difficult to directly compare the magnitude of various loss sources. 5. Large-Eddy Simulation of Gasoline Fuel Spray Injection at Ultra-High Injection Pressures
Abstract : Gasoline direct injection is a state-of-the-art technique that reduces hydrocarbon and particulate emissions. However, further improvement is needed to meet current as well as future emission regulations. READ MORE
