  1. 1. Compensating for Unreliable Communication Links in Networked Control Systems

    Author : Erik Henriksson; Karl Henrik Johansson; Henrik Sandberg; Bruno Sinopoli; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; networked control; packet loss compensation; unreliable communication; control over wirless networks; Automatic control; Reglerteknik;

    Abstract : Control systems utilizing wireless sensor and actuator networks can be severely affectedby the properties of the communication links. Radio fading and interferencemay cause communication losses and outages in situations when the radio environmentis noisy and low transmission power is desirable. READ MORE

  2. 2. Development and evaluation of methods for control and modelling of multiple-input multiple-output systems

    Author : Fredrik Bengtsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Input-output scaling; Modeling; Fiber length; Tensile Index; Hold-input; Decentralized control; Gramian based measures; Delays; LQG control; TMP; Uncertain data sets; Unreliable communication links; MIMO systems; Control configuration selection; Linear regression; Freeness; Shives; CTMP;

    Abstract : In control, a common type of system is the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system, where the same input may affect multiple outputs, or conversely, the same output is affected by multiple inputs. In this thesis two methods for controlling MIMO systems are examined, namely linear quadratic Gaussian (LQG) control and decentralized control, and some of the difficulties associated with them. 3. 3. The Knowledgeable Parent : Ideologies of Communication in Swedish Health Discourse

    Author : Linnea Hanell; Mona Blåsjö; Anders Björkvall; Rodney H. Jones; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; child care; health communication; knowledge; language ideology; linguistic anthropology; mediated discourse analysis; parenting; sociolinguistics; the welfare state; föräldraskap; hälsokommunikation; kunskap; lingvistisk antropologi; medierad diskursanalys; sociolingvistik; språkideologi; välfärdsstaten; Scandinavian Languages; nordiska språk;

    Abstract : This thesis explores the communication of health knowledge among new parents in Sweden. Based on three separate studies, the thesis employs a selection of theoretical concepts and methodological approaches, mainly originating from mediated discourse analysis and linguistic anthropology. 4. 4. Cooperative Communications : Link Reliability and Power Efficiency

    Author : Tafzeel ur Rehman Ahsin; Ben Slimane; Xavier Lagrange; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Cooperative Communications; Link Reliability; Power Efficiency; Energy Efficiency; Network Coding; Cooperative Relaying; SRA - ICT; SRA - Informations- och kommunikationsteknik;

    Abstract : Demand for high data rates is increasing rapidly for the future wireless generations, due to the requirement ofubiquitous coverage for wireless broadband services. More base stations are needed to deliver these services, in order tocope with the increased capacity demand and inherent unreliable nature of wireless medium. READ MORE
