    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; travel; travellers´diarrhea; microbiota; Campylobacter; Campylobacter jejuni; ST353CC; colonization resistance; enteritis; infection; Enterobacteriaceae; Christensenellaceae; Lachnospiraceae; whole genome sequence; vegetarian; bacterial resistance; ESBL; Extended spectrum beta-lactamase; probiotics; intestinal decolonization; eradication treatment; Infektionssjukdomar; Infectious Diseases;

    Abstract : Up to 100 million people travel annually from industrialized countries to resource-limited ones. Each traveller contains an internal ecosystem composed of tens of trillions of microbes, known as the intestinal microbiota, which has a large effect on health. READ MORE

  2. 2. Amyloid β-protein, Cystatin C and Cathepsin B as Biomarkers of Alzheimer's Disease

    Author : Johan Sundelöf; Lars Lannfelt; Lena Kilander; Hans Basun; Johan Sundstrom; Laura Fratiglioni; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Alzheimer´s disease; amyloid β-protein; cystatin C; cathepsin B; biomarkers; risk factors; epidemiology; Geriatrics and medical gerontology; Geriatrik och medicinsk gerontologi; Medicin; Medicine;

    Abstract : It is suggested that Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is caused by an imbalance between production, degradation and clearance of the amyloid-β (Aβ) protein. This imbalance leads to aggregation of Aβ and tau proteins and neurodegeneration in the brain. READ MORE

  3. 3. On Consumed Democracy : The Expansion of Consumer Choice, Its Causal Effects on Political Engagement, and Its Implications for Democracy

  4. 4. Additive Manufacturing of Ni-Fe Superalloys : Exploring the Alloying Envelope and the Impact of Process on Mechanical Properties

    Author : Carl Johan Hassila; Urban Wiklund; Staffan Jacobson; Johan Moverare; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Additive manufacturing; alloying for AM; PBF-LB; microstructure; tensile and impact testing; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot tribomaterial; Engineering Science with specialization in Tribo Materials;

    Abstract : Additive manufacturing of metals has received a lot of attention in the last decade as this family of manufacturing processes allows the manufacturing of complicated geometries which would be difficult to produce using conventional manufacturing techniques. Additive manufacturing of the Ni-Fe based superalloys 625 and 718 using the Powder Bed Fusion – Laser Beam (PBF-LB) process is facilitated by the fact that these alloys were developed as weldable alternatives to other high-strength, high-temperature Ni-based superalloys. 5. 5. New Biomarkers for Neuromuscular Function and Myasthenia Gravis

    Author : Carl Johan Molin; Anna Rostedt Punga; Johan Widenfalk; Nils Hailer; Jan Verschuuren; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Biomarkers; myasthenia gravis; neuromuscular function; neurophysiology;

    Abstract : Myasthenia gravis (MG) is an autoimmune disorder, which is caused by autoantibodies against the acetylcholine receptor (AChR). The cardinal symptom is muscle fatigue, which can range from slight weakness of the extraocular muscles (causing droopy eyelids or double vision), to paralysis of the respiratory muscles. READ MORE
