  1. 16. Prediction of Energy Use of a Swedish Secondary School Building : Building Energy Simulation, Validation, Occupancy Behaviour and Potential Energy-Efficiency Measures

    Author : Jessika Steen Englund; Bahram Moshfegh; Mathias Cehlin; Jan Akander; Tomas Persson; Högskolan i Gävle; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; building energy simulation; school building; field measurements; energy use; heat power demand; validation; occupancy behaviour; airing; energy-efficiency measures; byggnadssimulering; skolbyggnad; fältmätningar; energianvändning; värmeeffektbehov; validering; brukarbeteende; vädring; energieffektiviseringsåtgärder; Hållbar stadsutveckling; Sustainable Urban Development;

    Abstract : Residential and public buildings account for about 40% of the annual energy use in Europe. Many buildings are in urgent need of renovation, and reductions in energy demand in the built environment are of high importance in both Europe and Sweden. Building energy simulation (BES) tools are often used to predict building performance. READ MORE

  2. 17. Simulation based evaluation of flexible transit

    Author : David Leffler; Erik Jenelius; Wilco Burghout; Oded Cats; Jan Persson; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Transportvetenskap; Transport Science;

    Abstract : Transport authorities are faced with the challenge of making effective use of existing transportation infrastructure under increasing needs of transport accessibility, sustainability, and safety. The ongoing growth and adoption of shared mobility options, the anticipation of automated vehicles, and the increased availability of real-time data brought on with the developments of Intelligent Transport Systems, have all inspired many innovations in public transit design. 5. 20. Towards sustainable energy consumption : Electricity demand flexibility and household fuel choice

    Author : Aemiro Melkamu Daniel; Lars Persson; Runar Brännlund; Rauli Svento; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Choice experiment; demand flexibility; electricity contract; fuel choice; fuel stacking; household heterogeneity; load control; pro-environmental framing; willingness-to-accept;

    Abstract : Paper [I] investigates household heterogeneity in valuing electricity contract attributes that include various load controls and information sharing to induce demand flexibility. Using a stated preference choice experiment conducted with Swedish households, this paper shows that, although a large proportion of households ask for substantial compensation, some households are willing to share their electricity consumption information and require relatively lower compensation to allow load controls.
