21. Adolescent mental health : time trends and validity of self-report measures
Abstract : Background: Studies of time trends of adolescent self-reported mental health suggest an increase of mental health symptoms globally. Unfortunately, several studies within the field have methodological problems, such as short time-period between measurements and different mental health measures over time. READ MORE

22. Intrapatient evolution of HIV-1 in the context of coreceptor usage
Abstract : The variable region 1 to 3 (V1-V3) of the HIV-1 envelope plays an important role in coreceptor usage. Early in infection HIV- 1 is using CCR5 as coreceptor to enter target cells (R5 viruses) whereas viruses using CXCR4 as coreceptor (X4 viruses) may appear later in infection. READ MORE

23. Neurotransmitter phenotypes of neurons in the spinal cord and their functional role in the mouse locomotor network
Abstract : Walking is a special case of movement because it is rhythmic. An important area in current neuroscience research, is to better understand the different organizational levels (molecular, ion channels, neurotransmitters, connectivity etc.) that implement the function of rhythmic movements. 24. Humoral immunity during primate lentivirus infection : evaluation of B cell apoptosis and engineering of virus specific antibodies
Abstract : The focus of this project was to evaluate the contribution of the humoral immunity in controlling infection with primate lentiviruses - an area which has implications both for vaccine design as well as for understanding of the pathogenesis of the disease. The first goal was to generate efficient neutralizing reagents which could be used for passive immunotherapy trials, preferably in the macaque system, and to investigate if peptide immunogens could elicit such antibodies. 25. Crystal structure studies of a new series of molybdovanadate polyanions and some related vanadates
Abstract : The determination of complexes formed in weakly acidic aqueous solutions containing pentavalent vanadium as well as hexavalent molybdenum has proved diffi cui t due to slow equilibria and 1 imi ted sol ubi 1 i ty of especially the vanadium species. The formation of several different polynuclear complexes with a very varied molybdenum/vanadium ratio also complicates the interpretation of Potentiometrie data. READ MORE
