11. Voltage Source Converters with Energy Storage Capability
Abstract : This project deals with voltage source converters with energy storage capability. The main objective is to study the possible benefits of energy storage to a power system with a VSC as the interface between them. First of all, a converter control system is proposed for a two level VSC. READ MORE

12. DC Distributed Power Systems - Analysis, Design and Control for a Renewable Energy System
Abstract : Renewable energy systems are likely to become wide spread in the future due to environmental demands. As a consequence of the dispersed nature of renewable energy systems, this implies that there will be a distributed generation of electric power. READ MORE

13. Control and Planning of Multi-Terminal HVDC Transmission Systems
Abstract : With recent advances in power electronic technology, high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission system has become an alternative for transmitting power, especially over long distances. Multi-terminal HVDC (MTDC) systems are proposed as HVDC systems with more than two terminals. READ MORE

14. The control of VSC-HVDC and its use for large industrial power systems
Abstract : With the recent developments in semiconductors and control equipment, Voltage Source Converter based High Voltage direct Current (VSC-HVDC) has become feasible. Due to the use of VSC technology and Pulse Width Modulation (PWM), it has a number of potential advantages: short circuit current reduction; rapid, independent control of the active and reactive power, etc. READ MORE

15. On the robust stability analysis of VSC-HVDC systems
Abstract : This thesis focuses on small signal stability analysis of VSC-HVDC systems, emphasizing the system stability robustness with regard to the connected AC-grid and the distributed parameter DC-grid model respectively. In addition, for strong AC-grid connected systems, analytical eigenvalue expressions are provided to investigate the impact of physical or control parameters on the system stability for both two-terminal and multi-terminal VSC-HVDC systems.
