  1. 1. Investigation of GaAs structures for microstrip detectors

    Author : Valery Chmill; KTH; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The performance of Gallium Arsenide p-i-n detectors afterneutron irradiation has been studied. The detectors have beenirradiated with » 6 MeV neutrons at various neutronfluences up to approximately 6 ¢ 1014 n/cm2, protons andmixed beam up to 1015 p/cm2. READ MORE

    Author : Valéry Zwiller; Fasta tillståndets fysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; time resolved photoluminescence; Physics; Fysik; Semiconductory physics; Halvledarfysik; Condensed matter:electronic structure; electrical; magnetic and optical properties; supraconductors; magnetic resonance; relaxation; spectroscopy; Kondenserade materiens egenskaper:elektronstruktur; egenskaper elektriska; magnetiska och optiska ; supraledare; spektroskopi; magnetisk resonans; microphotoluminescence; microcavities; photoluminescence; quantum optics; nano-optics; photonics; low dimensional structures; quantum dots; Fysicumarkivet A:2001:Zwiller;

    Abstract : The luminescence from single quantum dots has been studied. Single dot photoluminescence was studied under continuous as well as under pulsed excitation. Time-resolved studies revealed fast relaxations in quantum dots. The time resolved measurements were fitted with a set of rate equations. READ MORE

  4. 4. Radiation tests of semiconductor detectors

    Author : Valery Chmill; Bengt Lund-Jensen; Richar Brenner; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; radiation physics; materials science; Nuclear physics; Kärnfysik;

    Abstract : This thesis investigates the response of Gallium Arsenide (GaAs) detectors to ionizing irradiation. Detectors based on π-υ junction formed by deep level centers doping. READ MORE

  5. 5. Fate of contaminants in Baltic Sea sediment ecosystems : the role of bioturbation

    Author : Jenny E Hedman; Jonas Gunnarsson; Nils Kautsky; Valery Forbes; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Toxicology; Toxikologi; Marine Ecotoxicology; marin ekotoxikologi;

    Abstract : Aquatic sediments are of major importance for the cycling of environmental pollutants, acting as both sinks and secondary sources of contaminants to the ecosystem. Sediment-living organisms can affect the fate and transport of contaminants through activities like feeding and burrowing, collectively called bioturbation. READ MORE
