1. A 3D Digital Approach to the Stylistic and Typo-Technological Study of Small Figurines from Ayia Irini, Cyprus
Abstract : The thesis aims to develop a 3D digital approach to the stylistic and typo-technological study of coroplastic, focusing on small figurines. The case study to test the method is a sample of terracotta statuettes from an assemblage of approximately 2000 statues and figurines found at the beginning of the 20th century in a rural open-air sanctuary at Ayia Irini (Cyprus) by the archaeologists of the Swedish Cyprus Expedition. 2. Isolation, structure and processing of bioactive peptides
Abstract : Amino acid sequences deduced from DNA sequences do not prove in which forms proteins, peptides and their processed products are present in the tissues. The products of a single gene may give rise to variants of peptides because of post-transcriptional or post-translational processing. READ MORE

3. Towards personalized immunotherapy : development of in vitro models for imaging natural killer cell behavior in the tumor microenvironment
Abstract : Tremendous advances in the tumor immunology field have transformed immunotherapy from a promising approach to a standard clinical practice. However, a subset of cancer patients is non-responsive to immunotherapy. More research is therefore needed to understand the mechanisms underlying tumor resistance to immunotherapeutic treatments. 4. Exploring infants' cooperative participation in early social routines
Abstract : Cooperation and joint actions are often investigated in terms of how individuals explicitly coordinate their plans and intentions to achieve a shared goal. However, goals may also be achieved without prior arrangements, when, for instance, an individual takes part in someone else’s action without an explicit agreement, helping that action to be performed. 5. Bicuspid aortic valve-associated aortopathy unraveling the molecular signature
Abstract : Patients with bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) have an increased risk of developing ascending aortic aneurysm compared with individuals with a tricuspid aortic valve (TAV). A crucial factor involved in vascular remodeling during aneurysm development is transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) and impaired signaling of this pathway can alter important extracellular matrix (ECM) protein such us fibronectin and collagen and thereby explaining the increased aneurysm susceptibility of BAV patients.
