  1. 6. NOx Abatement Technique for Marine Applications - Improved SCR Systems

    Author : Mathias Magnusson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Sulfur dioxide; Human-Machine system; NOx reduction; Water; urea-SCR catalyst; Marine applications; Human element.;

    Abstract : Growing awareness of the environmental implications of emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOX), such as eutrophication and acidification on land and at sea, has contributed to the development of more stringent international NOx legislations within the framework of IMO, with the most stringent legislation, Tier III, representing a NOx reduction of approximately 80% compared with today’s engines. Several NOx abatement technologies are available on the market, the most effective of which may be Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR). READ MORE

  2. 7. A DATA-DRIVEN APPROACH TO SUPPORTING USERS’ ADAPTATION TO SMART IN-VEHICLE SYSTEMS

    Author : Julia Orlovska; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; driver behavior assessment; data-driven design; vehicle data; real-time driver support; Driver Coach approach; ADAS;

    Abstract : The utilization of data to understand user behavior and support user needs began to develop in areas such as internet services, smartphone apps development, and the gaming industry. This bloom of data-driven services and applications forced OEMs to consider possible solutions for better in-vehicle connectivity. READ MORE

  3. 8. Design of Multifunctional Body Panels for Conflicting Structural and Acoustic Requirements in Automotive Applications

    Author : Christopher John Cameron; Dan Zenkert; Peter Göransson; Per Wennhage; Henry Rice; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Vehicle engineering; Farkostteknik; Construction engineering; Konstruktionsteknik;

    Abstract : Over the past century, the automobile has become an integral part of society, with vastincreases in safety, refinement, and complexity, but most unfortunately in mass. Thetrend of increasing mass cannot be maintained in the face of increasingly stringentregulations on fuel consumption and emissions. READ MORE

  4. 9. Estimation of Nonlinear Dynamic Systems : Theory and Applications

    Author : Thomas B. Schön; Fredrik Gustafsson; Simon Godsill; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Nonlinear estimation; system identification; Kalman filter; particle filter; marginalized particle filter; expectation maximization; automotive applications; Automatic control; Reglerteknik;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with estimation of states and parameters in nonlinear and non-Gaussian dynamic systems. Sequential Monte Carlo methods are mainly used to this end. These methods rely on models of the underlying system, motivating some developments of the model concept. READ MORE

  5. 10. Kinetic Energy Storage and Magnetic Bearings : for Vehicular Applications

    Author : Johan Abrahamsson; Hans Bernhoff; Urban Lundin; Richard Magdalena Stephan; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; flywheel; magnetic bearing; energy storage; electric vehicle; Engineering Science with specialization in Science of Electricity; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot elektricitetslära;

    Abstract : One of the main challenges in order to make electric cars competitive with gas-powered cars is in the improvement of the electric power system. Although many of the energy sources currently used in electric vehicles have sufficientlyhigh specific energy, their applicability is limited due to low specific power. READ MORE
