1. On finite element schemes for Vlasov-Maxwell system and Schrödinger equation
Abstract : This thesis treats finite element schemes for two kind of problems, the Valsov-Maxwellsystem and the nonlinear Schrödinger equation. We study streamline diffusion schemes applied for numerical solution of the one and one-half dimensional relativistic Vlasov-Maxwell system. The study is made both in a priori and a posteriori settings. READ MORE

2. Modelling of laser plasma interaction with applications
Abstract : The development of laser systems with ultra-high intensities has both opened up prospects for compact particle accelerators, as well as probing QED-effects, which are present in the high intensity regime. To describe laser matter interaction, it is necessary to self-consistently account for the paths of a large number of particles and the corresponding electromagnetic fields, with the addition of stochastic effects at high laser intensities. 3. Modelling of laser plasma interaction with applications to particle acceleration and radiation generation
Abstract : The development of laser systems with ultra-high intensities has allowed the study of the relativistic interaction of laser light and ionized matter, plasmas, as well as opened up prospects for compact particle accelerators, generation of high intensity X-ray, XUV radiation, and probing QED-effects, which are present in the high intensity regime. To describe laser matter interaction, it is necessary to self-consistently account for the paths of a large number of particles and the corresponding electromagnetic fields, with the addition of stochastic effects at high laser intensities. 4. On the Einstein-Vlasov system: Stationary Solutions and Small Data Solutions with Charged and Massless Particles
Abstract : The Vlasov matter model describes an ensemble of collisionless particles moving through space-time. These particles interact via the gravitational field which they create collectively. In the framework of General Relativity this gravitational field is described by space-time curvature. READ MORE

5. Compact Relativistic Matter Shells with Massless and Charged Particles
Abstract : The Vlasov model is a matter model that is widely used in physics. In the context of astrophysics and cosmology it describes an ensemble of self gravitating, collisionless particles. These particles can be interpreted as for example ions, stars, or galaxies. READ MORE
