  1. 1. The space of Cohen-Macaulay curves

    Author : Katharina Heinrich; Roy Skjelnes; Lars Halvard Halle; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : In this thesis we discuss a moduli space of projective curves with a map to a given projective space. The functor CM parametrizes curves, that is, Cohen-Macaulay schemes of pure dimension 1, together with a finite map to the projective space that is an isomorphism onto its image away from a finite set of closed points. 2. 2. Exact completion and type-theoretic structures

    Author : Jacopo Emmenegger; Erik Palmgren; Alexander Berglund; Maria Emilia Maietti; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; exact completion; type theory; setoid; weak limits; cartesian closure; inductive types; Mathematics; matematik;

    Abstract : This thesis consists of four papers and is a contribution to the study of representations of extensional properties in intensional type theories using, mainly, the language and tools from category theory. Our main focus is on exact completions of categories with weak finite limits as a category-theoretic description of the setoid construction in Martin-Löf's intensional type theory. READ MORE

  3. 3. Twisting it up the Quantum Way : On Matrix Models, q-deformations and Supersymmetric Gauge Theories

    Author : Rebecca Lodin; Maxim Zabzine; Taro Kimura; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Matrix models; Virasoro constraints; Virasoro algebra; W algebra; q-deformations; Supersymmetric gauge theories; Theoretical Physics; Teoretisk fysik;

    Abstract : The mathematical framework which quantum field theory constitutes has been very successful in describing nature. As an extension of such a framework, the idea of supersymmetry was introduced. This greatly simplified the mathematical description of the theories, making them more tractable. READ MORE

  4. 4. Constructions in higher-dimensional Auslander-Reiten theory

    Author : Andrea Pasquali; Martin Herschend; Petter Andreas Bergh; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; Representation theory; higher-dimensional Auslander-Reiten theory; Postnikov diagram; 2-representation finite algebra; self-injective algebra; quiver with potential; skew group algebra; Mathematics; Matematik;

    Abstract : This thesis consists of an introduction and five research articles about representation theory of algebras.Papers I and II focus on the tensor product of algebras from the point of view of higher-dimensional Auslander-Reiten theory. In Paper I we consider the tensor product Λ of two algebras which are n- respectively m-representation finite. READ MORE

  5. 5. Smooth Schubert varieties and boolean complexes of involutions

    Author : Vincent Umutabazi; Axel Hultman; Jan Snellman; Volodymyr Mazorchuk; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : This thesis is composed of two papers both in algebraic combinatorics and Coxeter groups.In Paper I, we concentrate on smoothness of Schubert varieties indexed by involutions from finite simply laced types. READ MORE
