11. Temperature dependent atomic-scale modeling of interfaces in cemented carbides
Abstract : Material properties can now be calculated directly from first principles using density functional theory (DFT) which has a great predictive power and can, in cases that are difficult to approach experimentally, provide crucial insights on the atomic and electronic level. Such cases include the thermodynamics of interfaces and surfaces which are crucial factors for the structure and macroscopic properties of many materials, where cemented carbides are one example. 12. Evolution of WC-Co cemented carbide microstructure during creep testing
Abstract : The aim of this work is to understand the mechanisms behind the plastic deformation of WC-Co based cemented carbides. The microstructures of two materials have been investigated before and after creep deformation using quantitative microscopy, atom probe tomography, and transmission electron microscopy. READ MORE

13. Microstructure Development of WC-Co Based Cemented Carbides During Creep Testing
Abstract : The aim of this work is to understand the mechanisms behind the plastic deformation of WC‐Co based cemented carbides. The microstructure of two series with different WC grain size was investigated before and after creep deformation using quantitative microscopy, atom probe tomography, and transmission electron microscopy. 15. Thermal residual stresses, hardness and microstructural characterisation of functionally graded WC-Co composites
Abstract : Functionally graded materials (FGMs) incorporate gradual transitions in their microstructure and/or composition with distance. The gradients provide means to favourably engineer their thermomechanical properties by changing e.g., the local modulus, yield strength, state of residual stress etc. READ MORE
