  1. 1. Wide-scope screening for contaminants of emerging concern in archived biota: Method development, suspect prioritisation, and non-target screening in a novel identification tool

    Author : Wiebke Dürig; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : Environmental monitoring of hazardous chemicals in wildlife conventionally uses target screening for selected contaminants, but relatively few contaminants are moni-tored and knowledge of potentially hazardous contaminants of emerging concern (CECs) in wildlife is lacking. In this thesis, a non-target screening (NTS) method com-bined with temporal trend analysis was developed and applied as a prioritisation tool for identification of CECs in top predators, using high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS). 3. 3. Towards a framework for product-service system business model implementation

    Author : Wiebke Reim; Vinit Parida; David Sjödin; Christian Kowalkowski; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Entreprenörskap och innovation; Entrepreneurship and Innovation;

    Abstract : Manufacturing companies are increasingly focused on service-led growth to gain new revenue streams and achieve sustainable competitive advantages. In this regard, offering product-service systems (PSS) is proposed as an attractive solution for manufacturing companies to achieve economic, environmental, and social benefits. READ MORE

  4. 4. Development of nicotinic receptor ligands for positron emission tomography - from in vitro to in vivo : Binding studies of neuronal nicotinic acetylcholine receptors using different ³H-, ¹1C- and `6Br - labeled ligands

    Author : Wiebke Sihver; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Neurosciences; nicotinic acetylcholine receptor; PET-ligand; in vitro; in vivo; Alzheimer s disease; Neurovetenskap; Neurology; Neurologi; medicinsk farmakologi; Medical Pharmacology;

    Abstract : Neuronal nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) are involved in central processes, such as cognitive functionand memory, and play a critical role in neuropathological changes in Alzheimer's disease (AD). The in vivocharacterization of nAChRs by positron emission tomography (PET) may increase our understanding of thefunctional implications of these receptors in AD and their early changes during this disease. 5. 5. Detection and classification of sea ice from spaceborne multi-frequency synthetic aperture radar imagery and radar altimetry

    Author : Wiebke Aldenhoff; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Beaufort Sea; sea ice classification; sea ice; sea ice concentration; Fram Strait; SAR imaging; radar altimetry;

    Abstract : The sea ice cover in the Arctic is undergoing drastic changes. Since the start of satellite observations by microwave remote sensing in the late 1970's, the maximum summer sea ice extent has been decreasing and thereby causing a generally thinner and younger sea ice cover. READ MORE
