11. Ride The Wind : Symbiotic Business Model Innovation for the Chinese Wind Power Industry
Abstract : China has become one of the world’s leading countries in renewable energy, particularly in wind power. Goldwind Science and Technology has become not only the largest wind turbine manufacturer in China, but also one of the largest in the world. READ MORE

12. Wind-wave interaction effects on offshore wind energy
Abstract : This thesis is devoted to the investigation of the impacts of fast moving ocean surface waves on the aerodynamics of offshore wind turbines. The impacts of non-locally generated waves (swell) on the Marine Atmospheric BoundaryLayer (MABL) and thereby on offshore wind turbine aerodynamics are studied numerically by using Large Eddy Simulations and the Actuator Line Method. 13. On the Dynamics and Statics of Power System Operation : Optimal Utilization of FACTS Devicesand Management of Wind Power Uncertainty
Abstract : Nowadays, power systems are dealing with some new challenges raisedby the major changes that have been taken place since 80’s, e.g., deregu-lation in electricity markets, significant increase of electricity demands andmore recently large-scale integration of renewable energy resources such aswind power. 14. On Distributed Balancing of Wind Power Forecast Deviations in Competitive Power Systems
Abstract : Wind power generation does, on the one hand, contribute to a less polluting and more sustainable electric power generation mix. On the other hand, the uncertainty and the variability of the power output do challenge the operation of the power system: hourly variations in wind power generation are hardly predictable in a precise way. 15. Experimental studies of wind turbine wakes : power optimisation and meandering
Abstract : Wind tunnel studies of the wake behind model wind turbines with one, two and three blades have been made in order to get a better understanding of wake development as well as the possibility to predict the power output from downstream turbines working in the wake of an upstream one. Both two-component hot-wire anemometry and particle image velocimetry (PIV) have been used to map the flow field downstream as well as upstream the turbine. READ MORE
