1. Window Layer Structures for Chalcopyrite Thin-Film Solar Cells
Abstract : This thesis aims to contribute to the development of improved window layer structures for chalcopyrite thin-film solar cells, with an emphasis on the buffer layer, to assist future reductions of the levelized cost of energy. This is realized by exploring the potential of existing materials and deposition processes, as well as developing new buffer layer processes based on atomic layer deposition (ALD). READ MORE

2. Window-based congestion control : Modeling, analysis and design
Abstract : This thesis presents a model for the ACK-clock inner loop, common to virtually all Internet congestion control protocols, and analyzes the stability properties of this inner loop, as well as the stability and fairness properties of several window update mechanisms built on top of the ACK-clock. Aided by the model for the inner-loop, two new congestion control mechanisms are constructed, for wired and wireless networks. READ MORE

3. Cadmium Free Buffer Layers and the Influence of their Material Properties on the Performance of Cu(In,Ga)Se2 Solar Cells
Abstract : CdS is conventionally used as a buffer layer in Cu(In,Ga)Se2, CIGS, solar cells. The aim of this thesis is to substitute CdS with cadmium-free, more transparent and environmentally benign alternative buffer layers and to analyze how the material properties of alternative layers affect the solar cell performance. 4. Synaptic plasticity in local networks of neocortical layer 2/3
Abstract : The neocortex is a hierarchal organ in which information processing takes on place on many levels, from subcellular signalling all the way to neural networks. Neocortical local neuronal networks (microcircuits), composed of interconnected neurons, form elementary information processing units within the cortex. READ MORE

5. Atomic layer deposition of zinc tin oxide buffer layers for Cu(In,Ga)Se2 solar cells
Abstract : The aim of this thesis is to provide an in-depth investigation of zinc tin oxide, Zn1-xSnxOy or ZTO, grown by atomic layer deposition (ALD) as a buffer layer in Cu(In,Ga)Se2 (CIGS) solar cells. The thesis analyzes how changes in the ALD process influence the material properties of ZTO, and how these in turn affect the performance of CIGS solar cells. READ MORE
