  1. 1. Design and Performance of Diversity based Wireless Interfaces for Sensor Network Nodes

    Author : Magnus Jobs; Anders Rydberg; Shi Cheng; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Wireless; Sensor; Network; WSN; Antenna; WISENET; Node; Diversity; Phased Array; Conformal; WBAN; Body Area; Engineering Science with specialization in Microwave Technology; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot mikrovågsteknik;

    Abstract : The main focus of the work presented in this licentiate thesis concerns antenna design, adaptive antenna control and investigation on how the performance of small wireless nodes can be increased by inclusion of multiple antennas. In order to provide an end-user suitable solution for wireless nodes the devices require both small form factor and good performance in order to be competitive on the marked and thus the main part of this thesis focuses on techniques developed to achieve these goals. 2. 2. Antennas, Wave Propagation, and Localization in Wireless Body Area Networks

    Author : Rohit Chandra; Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Wireless Body Area Network; WBAN; body sensor network; body-centric communication; wearable devices; ear-to-ear propagation; antennas; analytical propagation model; localization; wireless capsule endoscopy; in-mouth device; implants;

    Abstract : A network of communicating wireless devices that are implantable, wearable or within close proximity of a human body is called wireless body area network (WBAN). The propagation channels for the devices in the WBAN are either through the body or over the body. READ MORE

  3. 3. Wireless Interface Technologies for Sensor Networks

    Author : Magnus Jobs; Anders Rydberg; Andrei Sazonov; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Wireless Sensor Networks; Body Area Networks; Jet Turbine; Electrically Small Antennas; Antenna Theory; WISENET; Wisejet; Engineering Science with specialization in Microwave Technology; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot mikrovågsteknik;

    Abstract : The main focus of the work presented in this thesis concerns the development and improvement of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) as well as Wireless Body Area Networks (WBANs). WSN consist of interlinked, wireless devices (nodes) capable of relaying data wirelessly between the nodes. READ MORE

  4. 4. Multi-Sensor Data Synchronization using Mobile Phones

    Author : Jonas Wåhslén; Thomas Lindh; Jens Eliason; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; wireless body sensor networks; wireless personal area network; sport technology; Bluetooth performance; time synchronization; data fusion; mobile phone application.;

    Abstract : Body sensor networking is a rapidly growing technology. Today wearable sensors are used to measure and monitor e.g. pulse, temperature, skin conductance, heart activity, and movement (through GPS or inertial measurement units). READ MORE
