6. Additive-Driven Improvements in Interfacial Properties and Processing of TMP-Polymer Composites
Abstract : Efforts to address environmental concerns have resulted in new regulations designed to plan the reduction of plastic and synthetic polymer usage, necessitating the search for sustainable natural alternatives with comparable cost-effectiveness and mechanical performance. Thermomechanical pulp (TMP) fibres are one of the most affordable natural fibres that have no chemical refining in production, production have a high yield of 90-98% and TMP fibres have been demonstrated to improve the mechanical characteristics (strength, stiffness and toughness) of wood-polymer composites (WPCs) compared to the pure polymer. 7. Numerical Analysis of Moisture-Related Distortion in Sawn Timber
Abstract : A 3D theory for the numerical simulation of deformations and stresses in wood during moisture variation is described. The constitutive model employed assumes the total strain rate to be the sum of the elastic strain rate, the moisture-induced strain rate, the mechano-sorption strain rate and the creep strain rate. 8. Integrated Cellulosic Wood Aerogel Structures
Abstract : Highly porous aerogels based on renewable materials that possess structural functionality are appealing for sustainable energy regulation and harvesting. Achieving structural anisotropy provides advantageous directional diffusion and mechanical strength, however, introduces great engineering challenges, such as complex, costly, and time-consuming processing. 9. Nonlinear modeling of reinforced dowel joints in timber structures : a combined experimental-numerical study
Abstract : Steel dowels are indispensable elements for the design of joints in modern timber structures. Dowels are broadly used because of their flexibility in design and easy assembling on-site, as well as due to their advantageous mechanical behavior. READ MORE

10. Design of Cellulose-Based Materials via Sustainable and Scalable Processes
Abstract : Plastic pollution is one of the most pressing environmental issues in today’s world. Addressing this problem calls for the development of environmentally friendly alternatives that would reduce the amount of persistent plastic waste. READ MORE
