21. Growth and Nano-structural Studies of Metallic Multilayer for X-ray Mirrors
Abstract : A part of the Ph.D. project focused on growth and characterization of metal multilayers is presented in this licentiate thesis. The main interest in carrying out this research is to develop highly reflective normal-incidence condenser mirrors for soft X-ray microscopy studies in the water window (λ=2. READ MORE

22. Surface Studies of Model Systems relevant for Pd and Ag Catalysts
Abstract : This PhD thesis reports on investigations of the atomic scale structure of model catalysts relevant for the catalytic oxidation of CO and methane over Pd, and NOx reduction over silver-alumina, important reactions in automotive catalysts. By using complementary experimental techniques such as X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy, High Pressure X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy, Surface X-ray Diffraction, Low Energy Electron Diffraction, Infrared Spectroscopy, and Scanning Tunneling Microscopy, combined with theoretical calculations, the work presented in this thesis aims at an atomistic characterization of the active sites for silver-alumina and Pd model catalysts which may help to the design of new and improved catalysts. 23. Amorphous, Nanocrystalline, Single Crystalline: Morphology of Magnetic Thin Films and Multilayers
Abstract : Properties of magnetic thin film devices cannot be understood without detailed knowledge of their structure. For this purpose, a variety of thin film and multilayer systems have been studied. READ MORE

24. Degenerative changes of the human temporomandibular joint : A radiological, microscopical, histomorphometrical and biochemical study
Abstract : In five autopsy specimen studies human temporomandibular joints were investigated by conventional tomography, macroscopy, and microscopy for degenerative changes, in particular erosive hard-tissue changes. In the microscopical evaluation special attention was paid to the calcified cartilage. 25. Formation of Bainite Studied by In-situ High-energy X-ray Diffraction
Abstract : Bainitic steels have attracted great attentions in recent years due to their excellent combination of properties to accommodate a wide range of applications. A deep and comprehensive understanding of how bainite forms is required to better design the production process and optimize the properties of bainitic steels. READ MORE
