  1. 1. Spontaneous and stimulated X-ray Raman scattering

    Author : Yu-Ping Sun; Faris Gel'mukhanov; Vincenzo Carravetta; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; resonant X-ray scattering; resonant Auger scattering; rotational Doppler broadening; XFEL pulse; Atomic and molecular physics; Atom- och molekylfysik; Spectroscopy; Spektroskopi;

    Abstract : The present thesis is devoted to theoretical studies of resonant X-ray scattering and propagation of strong X-ray pulses. In the first part of the thesis the nuclear dynamics of different molecules is studied using resonant X-ray Raman and resonant Auger scattering techniques. READ MORE

  2. 2. Quantum Transport in Superconductor-Semiconductor Nanowire Hybrid Devices

    Author : Chunlin Yu; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Keywords : Nanowire; InSb; Transport; Quantum dot; Majorana bound states; Andreev bound states; the Kondo effect; Superconductivity; Fysicumarkivet A:2018:Yu;

    Abstract : In this thesis, we study quantum transport properties of superconductor-semiconductor nanowire hybrid devices. We mainly focus on the quantum transport in InSb nanowire Josephson quantum dot devices, i.e. quantum dots coupled to two pieces of superconductors. READ MORE

  3. 3. Treatment of organic pollutants in high salinity wastewater : new catalysis systems

    Author : Han Yu; Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; High salinity wastewater; Electrochemical catalysis; Photo-electro catalysis; Degradation;

    Abstract : High salinity wastewater (HSW, NaCl mass fraction ≥ 1%) from industries and aquacultures contains massive organic matters with a wide variety. These organic matters have been considered as significant threaten to both human and environment. The removal and degradation of them before discharge emerge as necessity. READ MORE

  4. 4. High-Level Synthesis for SiLago : Advances in Optimization of High-Level Synthesis Tool and Neural Network Algorithms

    Author : Yu Yang; Ahmed Hemani; Zhonghai Lu; Madhura Purnaprajna; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electronic Design Automation EDA ; Computer Aided Design CAD ; Algorithm-level Synthesis; SiLago; Optimization Techniques; Neural Network; Informations- och kommunikationsteknik; Information and Communication Technology;

    Abstract : Embedded hardware designs and their automation improve energy and engineering efficiency. However, these two goals are often contradictory. The attempts to improve energy efficiency often come at the cost of engineering efficiency and vice-versa. High-level synthesis (HLS) is a good example of this challenge. READ MORE

  5. 5. Towards improved drinking water safety : the use of in vitro bioassays to optimize treatment processes and assess chemical hazards

    Author : Maria Yu; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Drinking water safety has been primarily dependent on the monitoring of only a limited number of individual chemicals via chemical analysis, which is insufficient to characterize the myriad of hazardous chemicals present in water. Effect-based methods (EBMs) using in vitro bioassays are useful in that they evaluate biological effects from all the known and unknown chemicals in the water and draw on toxicological principles.
