  1. 16. Studies of Catalytic Low-Temperature CO Oxidation over Cobalt Oxide and Related Transition Metal Oxides

    Author : Jonas Jansson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; catalytic CO oxidation; in-situ XRD; transition metal oxides; low temperature activity; kinetic modelling; in-situ FTIR; in-situ XANES; cobalt oxide; catalyst deactivation; reaction mechanism;

    Abstract : The catalytic oxidation of carbon monoxide at low temperatures is important in many applications. The use of a low temperature active catalyst may lower the emissions during the cold-start of a car, and volatile organic compounds in exhaust gases from stationary sources might be treated without the need of preheating the gas. 2. 17. In situ observations of tin deposition into nanoporous anodic aluminium oxide

    Author : Weronica Linpe; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; XRD; XRF; GTSAXS; XANES; Synkrotronljus; Elektrokemisk deposition; Anodisering; Tinn; Aluminiumoxid; Porös aluminiumoxid; In situ; XRD; XRF; GTSAXS; XANES; Synchrotron radiation; Electochemical deposition; Anodisation; Sn; Native aluminium oxide; Porous aluminium oxide; Nanoporous anodic aluminium oxide; In situ;

    Abstract : AbstractIn this thesis, the electrochemical deposition process of Sn into ordered nanoporous anodic aluminium oxide (NP-AAO) have been studied. The deposition process was studied in situ using the X-ray techniques: X-ray diffraction (XRD), Grazing incidence Transmission Small-Angle X-ray Scattering (GTSAXS), X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) and X-ray Absorption Near Edge Structure (XANES) and ex situ using Focused Ion Beam-Scanning Electron Microscopy and Transmission Electron Microscopy measurements. 3. 18. Structure and bonding of sulfur-containing molecules and complexes

    Author : Emiliana Damian Risberg; Magnus Sandström; Ingmar Persson; Tsun-Kong Sham; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Sulfur species; x-ray absorption and vibrational spectroscopy; TP-DFT calculations; Chemistry; Kemi; strukturkemi; Structural Chemistry;

    Abstract : Synchrotron-based spectroscopic techniques enable investigations of the many important biological and environmental functions of the ubiquitous element sulfur. In this thesis the methods for interpreting sulfur K-edge X-ray absorption near edge structure (XANES) spectra are developed and applied for analyses of functional sulfur groups. READ MORE

  4. 19. Red Glass Coloration : a Colorimetric and Structural Study

    Author : Torun Bring; Lars Kloo; Alicia Duran; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi;

    Abstract : Syftet med detta arbete har varit att försöka hitta alternativ till det kadmiumbase¬rade röda pigment som används idag. Detta har gjorts genom att delvis under¬söka kombinationer av grundämnen som i litteraturen finns omnämnda som röda glaspigment, delvis genom att försöka förbättra och underlätta produktionen av redan kända, men problematiska pigment. 5. 20. Phosphorus speciation in Swedish agricultural clay soils : influence of fertilisation and mineralogy

    Author : Ann Kristin Eriksson; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Keywords : LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Phosphorus (P) is an important element for crop production, but build-up of excess soil P can promote P leaching and eutrophication of surface waters. To better understand the dynamics of P release from soil to waters, more knowledge is needed about sorption patterns and P speciation in agricultural soils. READ MORE
