  1. 1. Spatial and temporal aspects of intense attosecond pulses for pump-probe experiments

    Author : Hampus Wikmark; Atomfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ultrafast lasers; ultrafast optics; attosecond pulses; pump-probe experiments; XUV light; XUV focusing; wavefront sensing; XUV optics; X-ray optics; Fysicumarkivet A:2019:Wikmark; ultrasnabba lasrar; attosekundspulser; pump-prob-experiment; XUV-ljus; vågfrontmätningar; XUV-optik; Röntgen-optik;

    Abstract : Nuclear and electronic dynamics in atoms and molecules are the foundation of many physical processes and chemical reactions. Often, these dynamics take place on timescales so much shorter than those commonly encountered that they are called ultrafast. READ MORE

  2. 2. Temporal Aspects of High-Intensity Laser-Matter Interactions

    Author : Johan Mauritsson; Atomfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Particle Acceleration; Laser technology; Relativistic Self-Focusing; High-Intensity Lasers; Attosecond Pulses; Pulse Characterization; XUV; High-Order Harmonics; Ultrashort Pulses; Laserteknik; Atom- och molekylärfysik; Atomic and molecular physics; Fysicumarkivet A:2003:Mauritsson;

    Abstract : The availability of short-pulse, high-intensity lasers has opened doors to new areas in atomic and plasma physics. The short pulses (a few femtoseconds), that are available today, enable unprecedented temporal measurements, while the high peak power accessible (several terawatts) allows physicists to study the interaction between light and relativistic plasmas. 3. 3. An Intense Attosecond Light Source - Towards Extreme Ultraviolet Pump-Probe Experiments

    Author : Filippo Campi; Atomfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Attosecond; Femtosecond; Ultrashort; Ultrafast; High-order Harmonic Generation; pump probe; XUV; Fysicumarkivet A:2017:Campi;

    Abstract : This thesis presents important steps towards performing high-intensity attosecond pump-probe experiments at the Lund high-intensity extreme ultraviolet (XUV) beamline, which followed two complementary paths: maximization of the XUV intensity available in the interaction region with a gas target, and providing attosecond temporal resolution.To maximize the energy of the XUV pulses generated via high-order harmonicgeneration (HHG), the macroscopic response of atoms to the driving infrared field was optimized. 4. 4. Focusing properties of attosecond pulses

    Author : Maria Hoflund; Atomfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The discovery of high-order harmonic generation (HHG) has made it possible to see the electron dynamics on their natural time scale, attoseconds. In the HHG process, a femtosecond infrared (IR) laser pulse is converted into a train of attosecond pulses in the extreme ultraviolet (XUV), but with a very low conversion efficiency. READ MORE

  5. 5. Non-linear attosecond physics at 100 eV

    Author : Alexander Muschet; Laszlo Veisz; Piotr Matyba; Per Eng-Johnsson; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; extreme ultraviolet XUV ; non-linear XUV – matter interaction; high-harmonic generation; photoionization; attosecond physics; isolated attosecond pulses; attosecond XUV pump – XUV probe spectroscopy; fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : Non-linear interactions between light and matter have nowadays a broad range of applications. They are used for frequency doubling in simple laser pointers as well as for a variety of purposes in complex laser systems like the one presented in this thesis. READ MORE
