  1. 16. Towards application of explicit likelihoods in inference for Dark Matter Direct Detection

    Author : Pueh-Leng Tan; Jan Conrad; Klas Hultqvist; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physics; fysik;

    Abstract : Despite the many empirical hints for the existence of Dark Matter in the Universe, Dark Matter has yet to be observed experimentally, be it directly through its scatterings in detectors, indirectly through its annihilation in the galaxy, or implicitly through its production and decay in particle colliders. Even though observations from astrophysics and cosmology placed constraints on the Dark Matter energy density and self-interaction cross section and with Standard Model particles, much about the nature of Dark Matter is still unknown, leaving much to the creativity of model builders. 2. 17. WIMP searches in an Effective Field Theory Framework from XENON1T to XENONnT

    Author : Vasile Cristian Antochi; Conrad Jan; Alfredo Davide Ferella; Samuel Silverstein; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; WIMP; Dark Matter; EFT; Chiral EFT; Direct Detection; PMT testing; fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : Observations from cosmology and astronomy suggest that most of the matter in the Universe is comprised of dark matter. In this thesis the evidence for dark matter and the possible candidates are explored, focusing on the Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs) hypothesis. READ MORE

  3. 18. Statistical Modelling and Inference for XENON1T

    Author : Knut Dundas Morå; Jan Conrad; Alfredo Davide Ferella; Glen Cowan; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Dark matter; direct detection; statistical analysis; fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : A great number of astrophysical observations suggests that of the matter in our universe, only a sixth is made up of known matter. The rest, named dark matter, has not been successfully identified. READ MORE

  4. 19. Gas-filled, flat plate solar collectors

    Author : Johan Vestlund; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mechanical stresses; collector material; heated cavity; Modelling; Solar collectors;

    Abstract : This work treats the thermal and mechanical performances of gas-filled, flat plate solar collectors in order to achieve a better performance than that of air filled collectors. The gases examined are argon, krypton and xenon which all have lower thermal conductivity than air. The absorber is formed as a tray connected to the glass. READ MORE
