  1. 1. Theoretical Studies on Magnetic and Photochemical Properties of Organic Molecules

    Author : Xing Chen; Olav Vahtras; Zilvinas Rinkevicius; Ian Carmichael; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The present thesis is concerned with the theoretical studies on magnetic and photochemical properties of organic molecules. The ab initio and first principles theories were employed to investigate the vibrational effects on the isotropic hyperfine coupling constant (HFCC) known as the critical parameter in electron paramagnetic resonance spectrum, the theoretical simulations of the vibronically resolved molecular spectra, the photo-induced reaction mechanism of α-santonin and the spin-forbidden reaction of triplet-state dioxygen with cofactor-free enzyme. 4. 4. Non-enveloped virus infection probed with host cellular molecules : a structural study

    Author : Li Xing; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Early steps in virus replication require binding of the virus to its target cell, entry into the cell, and delivery of the viral genome into the cell in order to gain access to the cellular macromolecular synthesis machinery. This infectious process can only be initiated if the virus successfully attaches to a specific receptor on the plasma membrane of the target cell. READ MORE

  5. 5. Promoter mutations/methylation in thyroid and urothelial carcinomas : biological and clinical implications

    Author : Xiangling Xing; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Genetic and epigenetic aberrations are well established to drive cancer development and progression. However, the underlying mechanisms are incompletely understood, and the translational applications of aberrant alterations are limited in gene non-coding regions, such as the promoter locus. READ MORE
