  2. 2. Modelling for Fuel Optimal Control of a Variable Compression Engine

    Author : Ylva Nilsson; Lars Eriksson; Lars Nielsen; Richard K. Stobart; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; combustion engine; modelling; Vehicle engineering; Farkostteknik;

    Abstract : Variable compression engines are a mean to meet the demand on lower fuel consumption. A high compression ratio results in high engine efficiency, but also increases the knock tendency. On conventional engines with fixed compression ratio, knock is avoided by retarding the ignition angle. READ MORE

  3. 3. Bilingual subject-specific literacies? Teachers’ and learners’ views and experiences of two school languages in biology, civics, history and mathematics : Case studies from the Swedish upper secondary school

    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Teacher and learner cognition; CLIL; subject-specific literacies; språkdidaktik; Language Education;

    Abstract : This licentiate thesis investigates teachers’ and students’ cognitions of bilingual subject-specific literacies. The thesis builds on three different studies, referred to as case studies, conducted in Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) study programmes in the Swedish upper secondary school. Abstract : Listen. If I ask you to listen, what is it that I ask of you—that you will understand, or perhaps obey? Or is it some sort of readiness that is requested? What occurs with a body in the act of listening? How do sound and voice structure audio-visual-spatial relations in concrete situations?This doctoral thesis in fine arts consists of six artworks and an essay that documents the research process, or rather, acts as a travelogue as it stages and narrates a series of journeys into a predominantly sonic ecology. 5. 5. Design, Fabrication and Optimization of Thermal Radiation Detectors Based on Thin Polymer Membranes

    Author : Claes Mattsson; Hans-Erik Nilsson; Göran Thungström; Ylva Bäcklund; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Thermal detector; Polymer; Membrane; SU-8; Electronics; Elektronik;

    Abstract : The number of applications in which infrared radiation sensors are used is increasing. In some applications, the cost of the sensor itself is an issue, and simple solutions are thus required. In this thesis, the investigations have related to the use of thin polymer membranes in thermal infrared sensors, such as bolometers and thermopiles. READ MORE
