  2. 2. Development of Analytical Methods for the Determination of Antimalarials in Biological Fluids

    Author : Daniel Blessborn; Anders Helander; Yngve Bergqvist; Högskolan Dalarna; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; Malaria; Chloroquine; Quinine; Sulfadoxine; Pyrimethamine; Mefloquine; Lumefantrine; Amodiaquine; Pyronaridine; Proguanil; Atovaquone; Sampling paper; Dried blood spots; Capillary blood; Antimalarial drugs; Solid-phase extraction; Liquid chromatography.; Chemistry; Kemi;

    Abstract : The aim of this thesis was to develop analytical methods for measuring antimalarial drugs in biological fluids. Solid phase extraction (SPE) was used for the enrichment and purification of the drugs. READ MORE

  3. 3. From achiral to chiral analysis of citalopram

    Author : Björn Carlsson; Yngve Bergqvist; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : depression; noradrenaline; dopamine; serotonin; citalopram; selective serotonin-reuptake inhibitor SSRI ; high-performance liquid chromatography HPLC ; therapeutic drug monitoring TDM ; enantioselective separation; MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : Within the field of depression the “monoamine hypothesis” has been the leading theory to explain the biological basis of depression. This theory proposes that the biological basis of depression is due to a deficiency in one or more of three key neurotransmitter systems, namely noradrenaline, dopamine and serotonin which are thought to mediate the therapeutic actions of virtually every known antidepressant agent. Abstract : This thesis deals with the development of analytical methods for the determination of new antimalarial drugs in biological fluids. The goal was to develop methods that facilitate clinical studies performed in the field, such as capillary blood sampling onto sampling paper. READ MORE

  5. 5. Drug Analysis : Bioanalytical Method Development and Validation

    Author : Mikaela Malm; Yngve Bergqvist; Anders Colmsjö; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Analytical chemistry; African trypanosomiasis; calibration model; chiral chromatography; dried blood spots; eflornithine; evaporative light-scattering detection; HIV AIDS; lamivudine; liquid chromatography; malaria; nevirapine; piperaquine; pneumonia; solid-phase extraction; sulfadoxine; sulfamethoxazole; validation; zidovudine; Analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : This thesis describes bioanalytical methods for drug determination in biological matrixes, with drugs in focus used against diseases largely affecting low-income countries. Solid-phase extraction is used for sample cleanup, and processed samples are analyzed by liquid chromatography. READ MORE
