  1. 1. Quasi-instantaneous and Long-term Deformations of High-Performance Concrete with Some Related Properties

    Author : Bertil Persson; Avdelningen för Byggnadsmaterial; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Shrinkage; Relative humidity; Long-term; Hydration; High-Performance Concrete; Elastic modulus; Deformations; Creep; Concrete; Cement; Quasi-instantaneous; Strength; Building construction; Byggnadsteknik;

    Abstract : This report outlines an experimental and numerical study on quasi-instantaneous and long-term deformations of High-Performance Concrete, HPC, with some related properties. For this purpose about two hundred small cylinders and about one thousand cubes of eight types of HPC were cast. The age at loading varied between 18h and 28 days. READ MORE

  2. 2. Thermal ice pressure on structures in ice covers

    Author : Lennart Fransson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Structural Engineering; Konstruktionsteknik;

    Abstract : A method to estimate thermal ice pressure is proposed. Temperature-history and stress-history in a confined ice sheet heated at the surface is illustrated with numerical examples. Material parameters for columnar lake ice has been evaluated from classical laboratory experiments and a field program presented here. READ MORE

  3. 3. Models for analysis of shotcrete on rock exposed to blasting

    Author : Lamis Ahmed; Anders Ansell; Erik Nordström; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Shotcrete; Rock; Vibration; Stress waves; Numerical analysis.; Sprutbetong; Berg; Vibrationer; Spänningsvågor; Numerisk analys.;

    Abstract : In underground construction and tunnelling, the strive for a more time-efficient construction process naturally focuses on the possibilities of reducing the times of waiting between stages of construction. The ability to project shotcrete (sprayed concrete) on a rock surface at an early stage after blasting is vital to the safety during construction and function of e. READ MORE

  4. 4. Process chain simulation of forming, welding and heat treatment of Alloy 718

    Author : Joachim Steffenburg-Nordenström; Lars-Erik Svensson; Lars-Erik Lindgren; Fredrik Niklasson; Högskolan Väst; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Forming; Welding; Stress relieve annealing; Heat treatment; Finite Element Simulation; Manufacturing process chain; Alloy 718; Production Technology; Produktionsteknik; Manufacturing and materials engineering; Produktions- och materialteknik;

    Abstract : Manufacturing of aero engine components requires attention to residual stress and final shape of the product in order to meet high quality product standards.This sets very high demands on involved manufacturing steps to meet design requirements. READ MORE

  5. 5. Porous Materials from Cellulose Nanofibrils

    Author : Nicholas Tchang Cervin; Lars Wågberg; Björn Lindman; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Poröst material; cellulosa nanofibriller; Fiber- och polymervetenskap; Fibre and Polymer Science;

    Abstract : In the first part of this work a novel type of low-density, sponge-like material for the separation of mixtures of oil and water has been prepared by vapour deposition of hydrophobic tri-chloro-silanes on ultra-porous cellulose nanofibril (CNF) aerogels. To achieve this, a highly porous (>99%) robust CNF aerogel with high structural flexibility is first formed by freeze-drying an aqueous suspension of the CNFs. READ MORE
