  1. 1. Zeolite macrostructures

    Author : Lubomira Tosheva; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Chemical Technology; Kemisk teknologi;

    Abstract : The preparation of zeolite macrostructures in the form of bilayered hollow tubes and microspheres is presented. The bilayered hollow ZSM-5/silicalite-1 tubes were prepared using carbon fibers as a substrate. The surface of the fibers was modified and colloidal silicalite-1 seed crystals adsorbed. READ MORE

  2. 2. Structuring porous adsorbents and composites for gas separation and odor removal

    Author : Neda Keshavarzi; Lennart Bergström; Kurosch Rezwan; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Structure; pulsed current processing; zeolite; aluminophosphate; activated carbon; CO2 separation; adsorption; durability; cellulose; film; coating; materialkemi; Materials Chemistry;

    Abstract : Porous zeolite, carbon and aluminophosphate powders have been colloidally assembled and post-processed in the form of monoliths, flexible free standing films and coatings for gas separation and odor removal. Zeolite 13X monoliths with macroporosites up to 50 vol% and a high CO2 uptake were prepared by colloidal processing and sacrificial templating. READ MORE

  3. 3. The chemical nature of CO2 adsorption in zeolite A

    Author : Przemyslaw Rzepka; Niklas Hedin; Webley Paul; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; CO2 adsorption; flue gas CO2 capture; biogas upgrading; zeolite |NaK|-A; physisorption; chemisorption; kinetic separation; in situ diffraction; synchrotron XRD; NPD; NMR; IR; materialkemi; Materials Chemistry;

    Abstract : The climate changes are accelerated by increasing levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere connected to the fossil-fuel-based energy system. Substantial reforms of the system are needed immediately and could include the implementation of carbon capture and storage (CCS) technologies. READ MORE

  4. 4. Adsorption of proteins on zeolite FAU

    Author : Daniel Klint; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; matrix preparation; cryo-electron microscopy; protein purification; zeolites; Inorganic chemistry; Oorganisk kemi;

    Abstract : A highly dealuminated form of zeolite FAU, ultra-stable zeolite Y (USY), was used as an adsorbent matrix in the purification of proteins. Undesired proteins were removed from a crude preparation by adsorption on USY, increasing the purity of an unadsorbed protein (horse radish peroxidase), or the protein of interest was adsorbed on the zeolite and subsequently eluted through changes in the solution conditions (hen egg lysozyme, mouse-immunoglobulin G). 5. 5. Structured zeolite adsorbents

    Author : Alessandra Mosca; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Chemical Technology; Kemisk teknologi;

    Abstract : Zeolites are microporous crystalline aluminosilicates with unique properties, and therefore used in adsorption processes, for membrane separation, in catalysis, and in sensor technologies. Pressure swing adsorption (PSA) is a commonly used technology for purifying gases and is based on the ability of materials like zeolites, to selectively adsorb and desorb particular gas molecules as the gas pressure is increased and reduced, respectively.
