  1. 1. Functional Metal Oxide Materials Deposited by Inkjet Printing Technique

    Author : Yan Wu; Lyubov Belova; Gillian Gehring; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Inkjet printing; photoconductivity; ZnO; Al-ZnO; composite; electron transfer; CdS; field effect transistor; photosensitive; RT do-ferromagnetism; Mn-doped ZnO; MgO; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap;

    Abstract : This thesis presents a comprehensive study of the intrinsic room temperature ferromagnetism in 85 to 100nm thin films produced by in situ deposition of industrially important pristine MgO and ZnO by inkjet printing. It is suggested that the observed long range magnetic order, the so-called do magnetism in these oxides arises from cation vacancies. READ MORE

  2. 2. Synthesis of ZnO, CuO and their Composite Nanostructures for Optoelectronics, Sensing and Catalytic Applications

    Author : Saima Zaman; Magnus Willander; Omer Nour; Andrey Bakin; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ZnO; CuO; Nanostructures; Low temperature growth; Light emitting diodes; pH sensors;

    Abstract : Research on nanomaterials has become increasingly popular because of their unique physical, chemical, optical and catalytic properties compared to their bulk counterparts. Therefore, many efforts have been made to synthesize multidimensional nanostructures for new and efficient nanodevices. READ MORE

  3. 3. Chemically Synthesized ZnO Nanostructures : Realization of White Optoelectronic Devices with High CRI Values

    Author : Sadaf Jamil Rana; Magnus Willander; Omer Nur; Enda McGlynn; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Recently in a couple of decades, nanotechnology and nanoscience are becoming wide spread fields of research due to the revolutionary advances in the manufacturing processes which enable the realization of infinitesimally modest nanodevices holding a huge variety of fascinating properties and applications. Besides various functional materials, ZnO has captivated interests for a variety of applications in electronics and optoelectronics owing to its unique characteristics; such as, direct wide band gap, large exciton binding energy, semiconducting, photonic, and piezoelectric properties. Abstract : Pollution of water resources is a growing problem in the world and this has drawn the attention to photocatalysis, which is an emerging technology for water purification. In this thesis, low dimensional zinc oxide and copper oxides, which are promising photocatalytic materials, have been studied. READ MORE

  5. 5. Defect Induced Room-Temperature Ferromagnetism in ZnO and MgO Thin FIlms and Device Development

    Author : Mukes Kapilashrami; Lyuba Belova; E Dan Dahlberg; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Room-temperature ferromagnetism; intrinsic defects; un-balanced balanced magnetron sputtering; magnetic anisotropy and photoconductivity; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap;

    Abstract : This thesis presents the discovery of defect induced room-temperature ferromagnetism in industrially important ZnO and MgO thin films, and establishes from a systematic study, in both ZnO and MgO films, the unique phenomenon of the sequences of transitions from ferromagnetism to para-, and eventually the well known diamagnetism of the bulk as a function of film thickness. Highly oriented and high quality dense thin films of ZnO and MgO have been deposited by reactive (balanced) magnetron sputtering under different ambience conditions and deposition temperatures.
