21. Udder cleft dermatitis in dairy cows
Abstract : Udder cleft dermatitis (UCD) is a skin condition that affects dairy cows at the fore udder attachment or between the udder halves. The lesions range from mild (eczematous skin changes) to severe (open wounds and large crusts) and may impair the welfare of the affected animals. READ MORE

22. A Matter of Disorder : Monte Carlo Simulations of Phase Transitions in Strongly Disordered Systems
Abstract : Phase transitions and their critical scaling properties, especially in systems with disorder, are important both for our theoretical understanding of our environment, but also for their practical use in applications and materials in our everyday life. This thesis presents results from finite size scaling analysis of critical phenomena in systems with disorder, using high-precision Monte Carlo simulations and state of the art numerical methods. 23. Resource mobilisation for energy system transformation
Abstract : A transition to a sustainable path of development will require that fossil fuels are replaced with renewable energy sources and involve, therefore, a large-scale transformation of the energy system. In the EU, offshore wind power and biorefineries have the potential to play an important role in this transformation. READ MORE

24. Synthesis and characterization of Ga-containing MAX phase thin films
Abstract : The study of magnetic Mn+1AXn (MAX) phases (n = 1 − 3, M – a transition metal, A – an A group element, X – C or N) is a recently established research area, fuelled by theoretical predictions and first confirmed experimentally through alloying of Mn into the well-known Cr2AlC and Cr2GeC. Theoretical phase stability investigations suggested a new magnetic MAX phase, Mn2GaC, containing Ga which is liquid close to room temperature. READ MORE

25. Addressing the need of transition by socializing and making new friends : A socio-technical perspective on large-scale change in construction
Abstract : This research took its point of departure in the aspiration of large-scale change of the construction industry, where existing industry structures has been frequently criticized. To facilitate innovation and change in the Swedish construction industry, a strategic innovation program has been established based on the idea that research, innovation, and development should manifest itself through the mobilization of collaborative and actor-driven networks.
