  1. 1. Structural and Antibacterial Properties of Silver(I) Compounds with N-donor Ligands: A Challenge for Medical Applications

    Author : Al-Shimaà A A Massoud; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; X-ray diffraction; silver I compounds; solution chemistry; antibacterial activity;

    Abstract : In this thesis, new silver(I) nitrate compounds with N-donor heterocyclic ligands are described. The structures of the obtained crystalline compounds 1-19 were analysed using X-ray single-crystal diffraction. READ MORE

  2. 2. Copper(II) Azido Complexes: Synthesis, X-ray structures, thermal and magnetic properties

    Author : Al-Shimaà A A Massoud; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cu II complexes; bridging µ1; quinoxaline; 2; pyrazinetetrazolate; quinolinecarboxylate; 1–N3; 5-dimethylpyrazine; ferromagnetic interactions;

    Abstract : This thesis focuses on the synthesis and X-ray structure analysis of seven copper(II) and one cobalt(II) azido coordination polymer with quinoline and pyrazine derivatives as bridging co-ligands. The synthesis of these complexes were done by direct mixing of the metal salt (Cu(NO3)2 and CoCl2) and the organic ligand (pyrazinecarbonitrile, quinoxaline, quinoline-4-carboxylic acid and 2,5-dimethylpyrazine) solutions followed by the dropwise addition of aqueous sodium azide (NaN3) with continuous stirring. 3. 3. Optical Modeling and Characterization of Layers and Multilayer Structures : Organic Optoelectronic Devices and Spectroscopic Ellipsometry

    Author : Leif A. A. Pettersson; Robert W. Collins; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : This dissertation is on the subject of modeling and characterization of layers and multilayer structures with respect to their optical properties and characteristics. A number of different systems have been investigated; among them multilayer structures in the form of organic optoelectronic devices, anisotropic layers of conjugated polymers as well as inhomogeneous layers of porous silicon and oxidized silver. 4. 4. Biological Laboratory X-Ray Microscopy

    Author : Mikael Kördel; Hans Hertz; Ulrich Vogt; Jonas A. Sellberg; Rajmund Mokso; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; x-ray microscopy; laboratory x-ray microscopy; water window; biological; cell imaging; virus; Biological and Biomedical Physics; Biologisk och biomedicinsk fysik; Optik och fotonik; Optics and Photonics;

    Abstract : Soft x-ray microscopy in the water window (? ≈ 2.3 − 4.3 nm) is a powerful technique for high-resolution biological imaging. The strong natural contrast between carbon-based structures and water allows visualization of hydrated and unstained samples, while providing enough transmission through up to ∼ 10 μm of organic matter. 5. 5. Time-resolved x-ray diffraction of nanostructured samples

    Author : A. I. H. Persson; Atomfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; x-ray diffraction; phonons; optoacoustic transducer; electron diffusion; nanowires; Fysicumarkivet A:2016:Persson;

    Abstract : The work presented in this thesis is based on time-resolved x-ray diffraction studies of InSb (111) samples. The experiments were carried out using a pump-probe configuration using short laser pulses as the pump and x-rays as the probe. Laser excitation leads to the formation of a strain pulse that propagates through the sample. READ MORE
