1. Ageing of Asphalt Mixtures : Micro-scale and mixture morphology investigation
Abstract : There are many variables that affect the viscoelastic properties of asphalt mixtures with time, among which age hardening may be considered one of the important ones. Age hardening of asphalt mixtures is an irreversible process, which contributes to a reduction of the durability of pavements and eventually increases the maintenance cost. READ MORE

2. Recycling and durability of PVC materials focusing on pre- and post-consumer wastes from building products
Abstract : The potential for recycling various polymeric materials contained within buildings constructed in the late 1960s and 1970s in Sweden was investigated during the course of this work. Three residential blocks were studied to establish the quantity of materials available for recycling, to investigate the difficulty in and time needed for the dismantling of the buildings, the degree of purity of the materials, and the possibility of separating the materials. 3. Optical Efficiency of Low-Concentrating Solar Energy Systems with Parabolic Reflectors
Abstract : Solar electricity is a promising energy technology for the future, and by using reflectors for concentrating solar radiation onto photovoltaic cells, the cost per produced kWh can be significantly reduced. The optical efficiency of a concentrating system determines the fraction of the incident energy that is transferred to the cells and depends on the optical properties of the system components. 4. Mechanisms of Electrical Ageing of Oilimpregnated Paper due to Partial Discharges
Abstract : In this thesis, partial discharge (PD) phenomenon in oil-impregnated paper (OIP) is investigated under accelerated electrical stress. The thesis is mainly focused on the characteristic of PD activity and the influence it has on the insulation properties of OIP. READ MORE

5. Assessment of the lifetime of district heating pipes
Abstract : This thesis is concerned with the degradation and assessment of the lifetime of district heating pipes, where accelerated ageing is used to study the degradation in a short time frame. The project was divided into four interrelated parts. READ MORE
