  2. 12. Studies on vasoactivity of fibrin(ogen) derived peptides

    Author : Katarina Saldeen; Asrar Malik; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : Fibrin ogen derived peptides; vasoactivity; prostacyclin; nitric oxide; angiotensin converting enzyme; MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : Fibrin accumulation is a common fmding in many pathological conditions, such as in inflammatory processes, e.g. in the lungs in pneumonia or pulmonary insufficiency after sepsis. During lysis of the fibrin by plasmin or leukocyte elastase, peptides are released that may contribute to the pathophysiological changes. READ MORE

  3. 13. Treatment in Dilated Cardiomyopathy : with special emphasis on beta-adrenergic receptor blockade and angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibition

    Author : Kjell Jansson; Rolf Nordlander; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) is a heart muscle disease of unknown origin, characterised by ventricular dilatation and impairment of systolic function. The basic treattnent is medical, according to different pharmacological principles. Evaluation of the severity of the disease and the effects of medication are important for optimal management.
