  1. 11. Melt-processing and properties of thermoplastic composites based on ethylene-acrylic acid copolymer reinforced with wood nanocellulose

    Author : Abhijit Venkatesh; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Pulp fibers; Melt rheology; Composite; Injection moulding; Cellulose; Cellulose nanofibers; Cellulose nanocrystals; Extrusion; Mechanical properties;

    Abstract : Composites reinforced with cellulose nanofibers (CNF), both modified and unmodified cellulose nanocrystals (CNC) and pulp fibers have been prepared through small-scale and large-scale methods. The composites were produced by water-assisted dispersion mixing, drying and compression moulding on the laboratory scale and by extrusion and injection moulding for the large-scale production. 2. 12. Water-swelling tablets based on hydrophobically modified poly(acrylic acid) - Effects of amphiphiles on swelling and drug release

    Author : Patrik Knöös; Fysikalisk kemi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Drug deliver; Controlled release; Hydrophobically modified polymers; Surfactant-polymer interactions; Poorly soluble drug;

    Abstract : An important issue within the pharmaceutical world today is the increasing number of poorly soluble drugs. These often show a low bioavailability and a susceptibility to varying conditions in the intestine. READ MORE

  3. 13. Combustion dynamics and melt dripping of ethylene-acrylate copolyer composites

    Author : Roland H. Krämer; Ulf W. Gedde; Mats Jonsson; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; methacrylic acid; ethylene; calcium carbonate; ionomer; nanoparticles; intumescence; halogen-free; flame retardant; melt dripping; Polymer chemistry; Polymerkemi;

    Abstract : The degradation and combustion of blends of ethylene-acryalte copolymer with calcium carbonate and silicone were studied by a combination of flammability tests, in-situ measurements and analytical experiments. Compounds of poly(ethylene-co-methacrylic acid) blended with precipitated calcium carbonate nanoparticles were prepared. READ MORE

  4. 14. On the processing and properties of cellulose-containing polymeric materials

    Author : Ruth Arino Marine; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; rheological properties; compounding; dispersion; ionic liquids; ethylene-acrylic acid copolymer; cellulose fibres; gels;

    Abstract : ABSTRACTCellulose fibres have properties that make them very attractive as a reinforcement for thermoplastic polymers. Renewability, biodegradability, very good availability and low cost are some general advantages. READ MORE

  5. 15. On the processing and properties of cellulose-containing polymeric materials

    Author : Ruth Arino Marine; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; dispersion; extrusion; injection moulding; ionic liquids; compounding; ethylene-acrylic acid copolymer; gels; cellulose fibres; rheological properties;

    Abstract : Cellulose fibres have properties such as renewability, biodegradability, very good availability and low cost that make them very attractive as a reinforcement for thermoplastic polymers. Other more specific favourable properties are low density, high specific stiffness, low abrasive nature and their potential for modification. READ MORE
