1. From Passive to Active Electric Distribution Networks
Abstract : Large penetration of distributed generation from variable renewable energy sources, increased consumption flexibility on the demand side and the electrification of transportation pose great challenges to existing and future electric distribution networks. This thesis studies the roles of several actors involved in electric distribution systems through electricity consumption data analysis and simulation models. READ MORE

2. Synchrophasor based Steady State Model Synthesis of Active Distribution Networks
Abstract : With the increased penetration of distributed energy resources (DERs) at lower voltage levels, distribution networks (DNs) are being transformed into active grids. This has led to a paradigm shift in the operation, planning and control of DNs. READ MORE

3. Maximizing the integration of wind power in distribution system
Abstract : The global installed capacity of wind power has shown a significant growth, from just 24 GW in 2001 to 283 GW in 2012. This trend is expected to continue for some years to come. Hence a significant amount of wind power needs to be connected to the electric power system. READ MORE

4. Planning and Operation of Large Amounts of Wind Power in a Distribution System
Abstract : The global installed capacity of wind power has shown a significant growth, from 24 GW in 2001 to 370 GW in 2014. The trend shows that an increasing capacity of wind power is being connected to the electric power system. READ MORE

5. Longitudinal Force Distribution and Road Vehicle Handling
Abstract : The distribution of longitudinal forces has a large influence on vehicle handling characteristics such as the driver/vehicle interaction, road holding and yaw stability, in particular during combined traction/braking and cornering near the grip limit of the tires. In order to select and develop suitable driveline systems and associated active control that provide consistent driver/vehicle handling, maximum road holding and sufficient yaw stability margins, it is essential to understand the influence of a particular drive force distribution on these handling characteristics.
