  1. 1. Adaptive MIMO Systems with Channel State Information at Transmitter

    Author : Jinliang Huang; Svante Signell; Øien Geir; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; adaptive modulation; adaptive power allocation; average spectral efficiency; MIMO; BER.; Telecommunication; Telekommunikation;

    Abstract :  This dissertation presents adaptation techniques that can achieve high spectral efficiency for single user multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems. Two types of adaptation techniques, adaptive modulation and adaptive powe allocation, are employed to adapt the rate and the transmit power to fading channels. 2. 2. Efficient Processing and Storage for Massive MIMO Digital Baseband

    Author : Yangxurui Liu; Integrerade elektroniksystem; []
    Keywords : digital signal processor; baseband processing; parallel memories; data compression; channel sparsity; Reconfigurable computing; QR decomposition; resource scheduling; massive MIMO; MIMO; DVFS;

    Abstract : Driven by the increasing demands on data rate from applications, the wireless communication standard has for decades been evolving approximately at a pace of one generation per ten years. Following this trend, the ambitious plan to replace the current cellular mobile network standard (4G) with the next generation standard (5G) is going through the standardization phase and is getting close to its actual deployment. 3. 3. On MIMO Systems and Adaptive Arrays for Wireless Communication : Analysis and Practical Aspects

    Author : Mattias Wennström; Michael A. Jensen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Systemteknik; antenna array; calibration; MIMO system; flat fading; non-linear amplifier; switched parasitic antenna; analog beamformer; adaptive antenna testbed; Systemteknik; Systems engineering; Systemteknik; Signal Processing; signalbehandling;

    Abstract : This thesis is concerned with the use of multiple antenna elements in wireless communication over frequency non-selective radio channels. Both measurement results and theoretical analysis are presented. New transmit strategies are derived and compared to existing transmit strategies, such as beamforming and space-time block coding (STBC). READ MORE

  4. 4. Adaptation in multiple input multiple output systems with channel state information at transmitter

    Author : Jinliang Huang; Svante Signell; Anders Ahlén; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; MIMO; adaptive modulation; power allocation; spectral efficiency; CSI; Electrical engineering; Elektroteknik;

    Abstract : This thesis comprises two parts: the first part presents channel-adaptive techniques to achieve high spectral efficiency in a single user multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system; the second part exhibits a programmable and reconfigurable software-defined-radio orkbench(SDR-WB) in the Matlab/Octave environment that accommodates a variety of wireless applications. In an attempt to achieve high spectral efficiency, an adaptive modulation technique is applied at the transmitter to vary the data rate depending on the channel state information (CSI). READ MORE

  5. 5. Efficient MIMO Detection Methods

    Author : Mirsad Čirkić; Erik G. Larsson; John Thompson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : For the past decades, the demand in transferring large amounts of data rapidly and reliably has been increasing drastically. One of the more promising techniques that can provide the desired performance is multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technology where multiple antennas are placed at both the transmitting and receiving side of the communication link.
