  1. 21. Process based Modelling of Chemical and Physical Aerosol Properties Relevant for Climate and Health

    Author : Pontus Roldin; Kärnfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; gas phase chemistry; aerosol dynamics; aerosol particles; climate; kinetic multilayer model; Fysicumarkivet A:2013:Roldin;

    Abstract : Atmospheric aerosol particles have substantial influence on climate and air quality. However, the anthropogenic influence on the atmospheric aerosol is still poorly known. This limits the understanding of past and future climate changes. READ MORE

  2. 22. Exposing the Exposures : Assessing occupational aerosol exposures and their possible health and toxicological effects

    Author : Karin Lovén; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Aerosol; Occupational exposure; Spray; Engineered nanomaterial; Air-liquid interface; Toxicology;

    Abstract : According to the Global Burden of Disease study, occupational exposures to particulates, gases and fumes were responsible for 0.36 million deaths and 8.8 million disability-adjusted life years globally in 2015. READ MORE

  3. 23. Volcanic Aerosols in the Upper Troposphere and Stratosphere – Aircraft- and Satellite-Based Observations

    Author : Sandra Andersson; Kärnfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; carbonaceous aerosol; sulphate; ash; volcanic particles; upper troposphere; lowermost stratosphere; Stratospheric aerosol; volcanism; aerosol optical depth; radiative forcing; Fysicumarkivet A:2015:Andersson;

    Abstract : Volcanic eruptions are the largest source of variability in the stratospheric particle concentration as they inject SO2 that is subsequently converted into sulphate particles. No major perturbation of the stratospheric aerosol load has been observed since the large eruption of Pinatubo in 1991, but several moderate eruptions after 2000 have caused deviations from stratospheric background conditions. 4. 24. Primary Marine Aerosol Production : Studies using bubble-bursting experiments

    Author : Kim Hultin; Douglas Nilsson; Radovan Krejci; Ian Cousins; Åke Hagström; Erik Swietlicki; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : sea spray; water temperature; dissolved oxygen; photosynthesis; bacterial emissions; V-TDMA; mixing state; eddy covariance; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; Applied Environmental Science; tillämpad miljövetenskap;

    Abstract : Aerosol particles affect the Earth’s climate, although their impact is associated with large uncertainties. Primary marine aerosol represents a significant fraction of the global aerosol budget considering the Earth’s 70-percentage coverage by oceans. READ MORE

  5. 25. Development and validation of a system for the generation, characterization and subsequent air- liquid interface studies of aerosol particles

    Author : Christian Svensson; Ergonomi och aerosolteknologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; nanoparticles; aggregates; aerosol; protein interactions; toxicology; dose; air liquid interface;

    Abstract : Exposure to nano-sized and nanostructured aerosol particles with tailored properties are likely to increase in society. Occupational exposure to various kinds of nanostructured aerosol particles such as soot and metal aggregates already exists. READ MORE
