1. Volumetric Analysis in Mechanical Behaviour and Physical Ageing of Polymers
Abstract : Volumetric changes associated with the deformation of ideal elastic solids depends on elastic constants of the solid and applied strain. Their magnitude is easily determined from the corresponding Poisson's ratios. READ MORE

2. Experimental Evolution of Life-history : Testing the Evolutionary Theories of Ageing
Abstract : Ageing reduces fitness, but how ageing evolves is still unclear. Evolutionary theory of ageing hinges on the fundamental principal that the force of natural selection declines with age. READ MORE

3. Effects of Ageing and Physical Activity on Regulation of Muscle Contraction
Abstract : The aims of this study were to investigate the mechanisms underlying (1) the ageing-related motor handicap at the whole muscle, cellular, contractile protein and myonuclear levels; and (2) ageing-related differences in muscle adaptability. In vivo muscles function was studied in the knee extensors. 4. Influence of Ageing on Material Properties at Interfaces in Composite Insulators
Abstract : High quality of internal interfaces in composite insulators for high voltage applications is necessary for securing durability of their functionality. Weak macroscopic interfaces between the glass fibre reinforced (FRP) epoxy core and the silicone rubber (SIR) housing, such as spots with reduced bonding or a loss of the adhesion as well as presence of foreign contaminants, can appear to have an accelerating effect on the evolution of ageing processes, though it may take years before the first signs of processes endangering the insulator function appear. 5. Demographics and Future Needs for Public Long Term Care and Services among the Elderly in Sweden : The Need for Planning
Abstract : Long term care and social services (LTCaS) for older people are an important part of the Scandinavian welfare state. The fast growing number of elderly people in Sweden has caused many concerns about increases in future needs (and particularly costs) of age-related social programs such as LTCaS. READ MORE
