11. Lithium-ion battery models for performance and aging
Abstract : The demand for lithium-ion batteries (LiBs) is increasing at an exponential rate, so is the need to understand their behaviors and properties. In this pursuit, models are useful tools for improving cell design, quality, control system, keeping track of performance, aging andlifetime. 12. Aging Hematopoiesis: Functional Insights and Prospects for Rejuvenation
Abstract : Aging exerts profound effects on the hematopoietic system, leading to a loss of homeostatic control and reduced regenerative capacity. Clinical consequences of these changes include anemia, compromised immune function and an increased prevalence of myeloid disorders among the elderlies. READ MORE

13. Electrochemical Studies of Aging in Lithium-Ion Batteries
Abstract : Lithium-ion batteries are today finding use in automobiles aiming at reducing fuel consumption and emissions within transportation. The requirements on batteries used in vehicles are high regarding performance and lifetime, and a better understanding of the interior processes that dictate energy and power capabilities is a key to strategic development. 14. The aging brain and changes in cognitive performance : Findings from morphometry and quantitative susceptibility mapping of iron
Abstract : Brain aging is a heterogeneous phenomenon, and this thesis illustrates how the course of aging can vary within individuals over time and between individuals as a function of age, sex, and genetic variability. We used two contrasts from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), namely spin-lattice T1-weighted imaging, and quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM) from gradient-echo images, to picture the aging brain, by means of morphometric measures and brain-iron concentrations. 15. Aging effects on commercial lean NOx trap catalysts
Abstract : As a countermeasure to global warming, vehicles with low carbon emissions are being investigated by promoting lean-burn engines and high combustion efficiencies. However, one limitation to the increasing use of these engines is the need to develop corresponding catalytic systems for controlling the nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions in their lean exhaust.
