  1. 1. Studies on Rechargeable Fe-air electrodes in Alkaline electrolyte

    Author : Alagar Raj Paulraj; Yohannes Kiros; Carlos Ponce de León Albarrán; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fe-air battery; Cu Sn-doped nanostructured iron electrodes; Alkaline electrolytes; Bi-functional OER ORR catalyst; perovskite spinel catalyst; NiFeOx; air electrode; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : Energy storage system is an important component in the energy system based on variable renewable energy sources into the grid. Energy storage system could contribute to decarbonization, energy security, offset the demand and supply of the electricity sector, especially for the electric grid. READ MORE

  2. 2. Membrane Electrode Assemblies Based on Hydrocarbon Ionomers and New Catalyst Supports for PEM Fuel Cells

    Author : Sophie von Kraemer; Göran Lindbergh; Antonino Aricò; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Catalyst support; Carbon; High Temperature Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell; Hydrocarbon Ionomer; Membrane Electrode Assembly; Nafion; PEFC; PEMFC; Porous Electrode; Sulfonated Polysulfone; Titanium Dioxide; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : The proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) is a potential electrochemicalpower device for vehicles, auxiliary power units and small-scale power plants. In themembrane electrode assembly (MEA), which is the core of the PEMFC single cell,oxygen in air and hydrogen electrochemically react on separate sides of a membraneand electrical energy is generated. 3. 3. Stability Phenomena in Novel Electrode Materials for Lithium-ion Batteries

    Author : Mårten Stjerndahl; Torbjörn Gustafsson; John O. Thomas; Robert M. Kostecki; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Inorganic chemistry; Li-ion battery; electrode material; intermetallic; AlSb; lithium iron phosphate; lithium iron silicate; photoelectron spectroscopy; Oorganisk kemi;

    Abstract : Li-ion batteries are not only a technology for the future, they are indeed already the technology of choice for today’s mobile phones, laptops and cordless power tools. Their ability to provide high energy densities inexpensively and in a way which conforms to modern environmental standards is constantly opening up new markets for these batteries. READ MORE

  4. 4. Inhibited electrical discharges in air

    Author : Anders Larsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physics; Fysik; Physics; Fysik; elektronik; Electronics;

    Abstract : Modem society requires a stable electricity supply, the reliability of which is partlydetermined by the dielectric strength of the outdoor high-voltage insulation systems.This thesis concentrates upon one particular discharge phenomenon that occurs whensuch a system is subjected to rain, namely the inhibited discharge. 5. 5. Electrode degradation in proton exchange membrane fuel cells

    Author : Alejandro Oyarce; Göran Lindbergh; Carina Lagergren; Steven Holdcroft; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; PEMFC; PEFC; Porous electrodes; Carbon corrosion; Carbon nanotubes; Carbon fibers; Polyhedral carbon nanofoams; Phosphonated hydrocarbon ionomer; Mass-transport losses; Electrode morphology; Electrode collapse; Start-up and shut-down; System strategies; Stainless steel; Bi-polar plates; In-situ contact resistance.;

    Abstract : The topic of this thesis is the degradation of fuel cell electrodes in proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs). In particular, the degradation associated with localized fuel starvation, which is often encountered during start-ups and shut-downs (SUs/SDs) of PEMFCs. At SU/SD, O2 and H2 usually coexist in the anode compartment. READ MORE
