  1. 1. Thermodynamic properties of humid air and their application in advanced power generation cycles

    Author : Xiaoyan Ji; Jinyue Yan; Umberto Desideri; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; air-water mixture; humid air; properties; wet cycles; dry air; water; enthalpy; entropy; heat capacity; density; evaporative gas turbine; compressed air energy storage; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : Water or steam is added into the working fluid (often air) in gas turbines to improve the performance of gas turbine cycles. A typical application is the humidified gas turbine that has the potential to give high efficiencies, high specific power output, low emissions and low specific investment. READ MORE

  2. 2. CFD MODELLING AND EXPERIMENTS ON AERATOR FLOW IN CHUTE SPILLWAYS

    Author : Penghua Teng; James Yang; Anders Wörman; Anton Schleiss; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Spillway Aerator; Cavitation; Air Entrainment; Two-phase Flow; VOF; Mixture Model; Two-Fluid Model; Air Cavity; Cavity Air Pressure; Air Concentration; Shadowgraphic Image Method SIM ; High-speed Particle Image Velocimetry HSPIV ; Bubble Tracking Method BTM ; luftningsramp; kavitation; luftinträngning; tvåfasflöde; VOF; Mixture Model; Two-Fluid Model; luftkavitet; kavitetslufttryck; luftkoncentration; skuggrafisk bildmetod; hastighetsmätning med höghastighetspartikelfotografering; bubbelspårningsmetod; Byggvetenskap; Civil and Architectural Engineering;

    Abstract : A chute spillway is a typical component of large dams for discharging floods. Because of the high water head, the flow velocity in the chute is often in excess of 20 m/s. Consequently, the structure is usually prone to cavitation damages. Flow aeration is evidenced to efficiently eliminate or to mitigate the damages. READ MORE

  3. 3. Frosting and Defrosting of Air-Coils

    Author : Per Fahlén; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; heat pump; defrost; air-coil; air-source; control; frost; optimized;

    Abstract : Experience indicates that air-source heat pumps have more operating problems than ground-source heat pumps. One major factor pertains to the effects of frosting and the subsequent need for defrosting. This thesis reviews previous research and practical experience and presents novel experimental facilities to investigate the process of frosting. READ MORE

  4. 4. Standardization of Real Property Rights and Public Regulations : The Legal Cadastral Domain Model

    Author : Jesper M. Paasch; Peter Ekbäck; Peter van Oosterom; KTH; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; cadastral domain; standardization; real property; real property rights; public regulations; real property ownership; land administration; modelling; terminology; comparative law;

    Abstract : The objective of this thesis is to develop a conceptual model for classification of real property rights and public regulations. The model is called the Legal Cadastral Domain Model.The model is intended to be a terminological framework for cross-border exchange of cadastral information. READ MORE
