  1. 1. Some Factors Influencing Thermal Comfort and Air Quality in Residential Buildings. Field Measurements and Laboratory Tests

    Author : Ulf Krüger; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ventilation; air intakes; thermal comfort evaluation; air velocity; indoor air quality; air supply devices; occupation zone; air temperature fluctuations;

    Abstract : The main prerequisite for applying a specific ventilation system in residential buildings is that the demands set upon the indoor air quality and thermal climate can be satisfied. If this cannot be guaranteed using a simple exhaust system, a system with treated supply air, i.e. balanced ventilation, should be considered. READ MORE

    Abstract : This study presents air distribution systems that are based on confluent jets; this system can be of interest for the establishment of indoor environments, to fulfill the goals of indoor climate and energy-efficient usage. The main objective of this study is to provide deeper understanding of the flow field development of a supply device that is designed based on wall confluent jets and to investigate the ventilation performance by experimental and numerical methods. 5. 5. Adapting Variable Air Volume (VAV) Systems for Office Buildings without Active Control Dampers

    Author : Mari-Liis Maripuu; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; climate control; CAV; variable supply air diffuser; ventilation; VAV; energy efficiency;

    Abstract : In commercial buildings the building services systems may account for a substantial part of the need of energy. There is, at least in Sweden, a large existing stock of 20 to 30 year old office buildings, which are supplied with centralised constant air volume flow (CAV) air conditioning systems with the primary function to keep the room temperature at an acceptable level summertime.
