  1. 1. Fiber-laser-based noise-immune cavity-enhanced optical heterodyne molecular spectrometry

    Author : Aleksandra Foltynowicz; Ove Axner; Weidong Chen; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; absorption spectrometry; frequency modulation; cavity enhancement; NICE-OHMS; Laser frequency stabilization; fiber laser; Fabry-Perot cavities; sub-Doppler spectroscopy; trace gas detection; Physics; Fysik; Molecular physics; Molekylfysik; fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : Noise-immune cavity-enhanced optical heterodyne molecular spectro-metry (NICE-OHMS) is one of the most sensitive laser-based absorption techniques. The high sensitivity of NICE-OHMS is obtained by a unique combination of cavity enhancement (for increased interaction length with a sample) with frequency modulation spectrometry (for reduction of noise). 2. 2. Precision molecular spectroscopy in the near- and mid-infrared using frequency comb-based Fourier transform spectrometers

    Author : Adrian Hjältén; Aleksandra Foltynowicz; Ove Axner; Adam Fleisher; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; optical frequency comb; molecular spectroscopy; Fourier transform spectrometer; high resolution; mid-infrared; line list; double-resonance spectroscopy; difference frequency generation; fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : Absorption spectroscopy is a powerful scientific tool for non-invasive and remote sensing applications ranging from atmospheric monitoring to astrophysics. In spectroscopic detection schemes it is necessary to have spectral models for any molecular species to be detected or quantified. READ MORE

  3. 3. Optical Frequency Comb Fourier Transform Spectroscopy

    Author : Alexandra C. Johansson; Aleksandra Foltynowicz; Ove Axner; Jürgen Röpcke; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Optical frequency comb spectroscopy; Fourier transform; molecular absorption dispersion; fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : Fourier transform spectroscopy (FTS) based on optical frequency combs is an excellent spectroscopic tool as it provides broadband molecular spectra with high spectral resolution and an absolutely calibrated frequency scale. Moreover, the equidistant comb mode structure enables efficient coupling of the comb to enhancement cavities, yielding high detection sensitivity. READ MORE

  4. 4. Fourier transform and Vernier spectroscopy using optical frequency combs

    Author : Amir Khodabakhsh; Aleksandra Foltynowicz; Ove Axner; Frans Harren; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; optical frequency comb spectroscopy; molecular absorption; resonant cavity; Fourier transform spectroscopy; Vernier spectroscopy; fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : Optical frequency comb spectroscopy (OFCS) combines two previously exclusive features, i.e., wide optical bandwidth and high spectral resolution, enabling precise measurements of entire molecular bands and simultaneous monitoring of multiple gas species in a short measurement time. 5. 5. Continuous-filtering Vernier spectroscopy

    Author : Chuang Lu; Aleksandra Foltynowicz; Ove Axner; Wei Ren; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; spectroscopy; spectrometer; laser; optical frequency comb; optical cavity; NIR; MIR; flame; robust; time resolution; spectrum; fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : Continuous-filtering Vernier spectroscopy (CF-VS) is a laser-based detection technique that combines the broad spectral coverage of an optical frequency comb (OFC) with the enhanced interaction length provided by an optical cavity. The resonances of the cavity filter the OFC to a small group of comb modes that probe the transitions of the species present in the cavity. READ MORE
