1. Electron beam melting of Alloy 718 : Influence of process parameters on the microstructure
Abstract : Additive manufacturing (AM) is the name given to the technology of building 3D parts by adding layer-by-layer of materials, including metals, plastics, concrete, etc. Of the different types of AM techniques, electron beam melting (EBM), as a powder bed fusion technology, has been used in this study. 2. Aluminium alloy development for Additive Manufacturing
Abstract : Powder Bed Fusion (PBF Additive Manufacturing AM have emerged as a promising manufacturing process possessing a powerful combination of characteristics. Most noticeable are the near-net-shape, short lead time and flexibility, both with regard in design freedom and in part-to-part variation. READ MORE

3. Improved mapping of steel recycling from an industrial perspective
Abstract : The results from this study show that it is possible to obtain data series on the steel scrap collection based on mass balance model on the crude steel production figures by steelmaking reactor type and additional knowledge on process metallurgy as well as information on inputs and outputs into the reactors with an area correlation coefficient of 0,91 compared to data obtained from trade statistics. Furthermore, the study shows that based on a new method it is possible to calculate the time duration of mass flows on a continuous basis. READ MORE

4. Refractory High-entropy Alloy and Nitride Thin Films
Abstract : This thesis focuses on understanding the process-structure-property relation-ships for several refractory-metal-based high-entropy alloys and nitrides synthesized by magnetron sputtering. The thesis begins with the growth of TiZrNbTaNx understoichiometric nitrides by controlling substrate temperature and nitrogen flow ratio fN. READ MORE

5. Powder degradation during powder bed fusion processing: impact of processing conditions and alloy composition
Abstract : In the recent decade, powder bed fusion (PBF) metal additive manufacturing (AM) has attracted huge attention both from the industry and the research community. This effort has helped mature PBF technology as a potential alternative to conventional manufacturing processes as casting, machining, forging, etc. READ MORE
