  1. 1. Adverse Reactions after Vaccination and Allergen-Specific Immunotherapy: Contact Allergy to Aluminium and Itching Nodules

    University dissertation from Eva Netterlid

    Author : Eva Netterlid; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2010]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Patch test; Itching nodules; Contact allergy; ASIT; Aluminium; Allergen-specific immunotherapy; Adverse event; Parental reports; vaccination;

    Abstract : The aim of the work presented in this thesis was to investigate two different types of adverse reactions, persistent itching nodules and contact allergy to aluminium, after immunization with aluminium-containing vaccines and aluminium-containing allergen extracts used for allergen-specific immunotherapy (ASIT). The first paper describes active parental reporting of adverse events (AEFIs) after a booster dose of diphtheria-tetanus vaccine (DT). READ MORE

  2. 2. Modeling of glyphosate and metal-glyphosate speciation in solution and at solution-mineral interfaces

    University dissertation from Umeå : Kemi

    Author : Caroline Jonsson; Umeå universitet.; [2007]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; herbicide; glyphosate; surface complexation model; speciation; goethite; aged gamma-alumina; bayerite; manganite; cadmium II ; aluminium III ; potentiometric titration; adsorption; NATURAL SCIENCES Chemistry; NATURVETENSKAP Kemi;

    Abstract : Glyphosate (N-(phosphonomethyl)glycine, PMG, H3L) is a widely used organophosphorous herbicide. It interacts with metal ions and mineral surfaces, which may affect its mobility, degradation and bioavailability in the environment. However, these interactions are far from fully understood.
