1. Adverse Reactions after Vaccination and Allergen-Specific Immunotherapy: Contact Allergy to Aluminium and Itching Nodules
Abstract : The aim of the work presented in this thesis was to investigate two different types of adverse reactions, persistent itching nodules and contact allergy to aluminium, after immunization with aluminium-containing vaccines and aluminium-containing allergen extracts used for allergen-specific immunotherapy (ASIT). The first paper describes active parental reporting of adverse events (AEFIs) after a booster dose of diphtheria-tetanus vaccine (DT). READ MORE

2. Modeling of glyphosate and metal-glyphosate speciation in solution and at solution-mineral interfaces
Abstract : Glyphosate (N-(phosphonomethyl)glycine, PMG, H3L) is a widely used organophosphorous herbicide. It interacts with metal ions and mineral surfaces, which may affect its mobility, degradation and bioavailability in the environment. However, these interactions are far from fully understood. 5. Patch testing with palladium and aluminium, epidemiological and experimental studies
Abstract : AbstractThe aim of this thesis was to investigate the prevalence and significance of contact allergy to palladium from a Swedish perspective. Our initial findings made it necessary to also explore the importance of the metal aluminium used in test chamber systems and the effect of aluminium chloride (Al-Cl) in patch test preparations.
