2. Adverse Reactions after Vaccination and Allergen-Specific Immunotherapy: Contact Allergy to Aluminium and Itching Nodules
Abstract : The aim of the work presented in this thesis was to investigate two different types of adverse reactions, persistent itching nodules and contact allergy to aluminium, after immunization with aluminium-containing vaccines and aluminium-containing allergen extracts used for allergen-specific immunotherapy (ASIT). The first paper describes active parental reporting of adverse events (AEFIs) after a booster dose of diphtheria-tetanus vaccine (DT). READ MORE

3. Vaccine-induced aluminium allergy and long-lasting subcutaneous itching nodules
Abstract : Background: Aluminium contact dermatitis is rare even though aluminium is frequently used in antiperspirants and sunscreens. Sensitisation to aluminium is mostly a side effect of aluminium-adsorbed vaccines. These can also induce long-lasting intensely itching subcutaneous nodules (granulomas) at the injection site. 4. Aspects of pertussis, pertussis vaccination and adverse events associated with aluminum adsorbed vaccines
Abstract : The thesis originates in a clinical study of one of the new acellular pertussis vaccines performed in Göteborg in the 1990s. The monocomponent vaccine, pertussis toxoid adsorbed to aluminium hydroxide, had previously been shown to have an efficacy of 71%. READ MORE

5. High Temperature Tribology of Aluminium : Effect of Lubrication and Surface Engineering on Friction and Material Transfer
Abstract : Lightweight design for automotive applications has been pursued for several decades and continues to increase. The main driving forces are new and increasingly stringent emission regulations as well as the increasing popularity of electric, or hybrid, vehicles where the increased weight of the batteries need to be compensated by light weight structures.
