  1. 1. Functional and Flexible Light-Emitting Electrochemical Cells

    Author : Amir Asadpoordarvish; Ludvig Edman; Jun Gao; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; all-ambient fabrication; ambient-air lifetime; encapsulation; flexible; light-emitting electrochemical cells; light-emitting paper; fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : The introduction of artificial illumination has brought extensive benefits to mankind, and during the last years we have seen a tremendous progress in this field with the introduction of the energy-efficient light-emitting diode (LED) and the high-contrast organic LED display. These high-end technologies are, however, produced using costly and complex processes, and it is anticipated that the next big thing in the field will be the advent of a low-cost and “green” illumination technology, which can be fabricated in a cost- and material-efficient manner using non-toxic and abundant raw materials, and which features attractive form factors such as flexibility, robustness and light-weight. 2. 2. Design and Fabrication of Light-Emitting Electrochemical Cells

    Author : Andreas Sandström; Ludvig Edman; Ronald Österbacka; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Light-emitting electrochemical cell; fabrication; organic semiconductors; organic electronics; ambient fabrication; roll-to-roll; fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : Glödlampan, en gång symbolen för mänsklig uppfinningsförmåga, är idag på väg att försvinna. Lysdioder och lågenergilampor har istället tagit över då dessa har betydligt längre livstid och högre effektivitet. READ MORE

  3. 3. Solution-processed light-emitting electrochemical cells : challenges and opportunities

    Author : Etienne Auroux; Ludvig Edman; Christian Larsen; Andreas Sandström; Magnus Berggren; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Light-emitting electrochemical cell; PEDOT:PSS; Photonics; Ion transfer; Solution-based fabrication; Electronics; elektronik; Materials Science; materialvetenskap; jonfysik; Ion Physics;

    Abstract : Our world is filling up with electronics. High-tech gadgets are integrated everywhere, from smart fridges able to track expiry dates and food usage, to microchip implants that let us unlock doors and pay with our hands. READ MORE

  4. 4. Studies on Polarised Light Spectroscopy

    Author : Max Bergkvist; Simon Farnebo; Erik Tesselaar; Folke Sjöberg; Johan Thorfinn; Knut Kvernebo; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : This thesis project focuses on measurements of dermal microcirculation during vascular provocations with polarised light spectroscopy. This is done with a non-invasive method commercially available as Tissue viability imaging (TiVi) which measures concentration and oxygenation of red blood cells in the papillary dermis. READ MORE

  5. 5. Lighting, Mood, and Seasonal Fatigue in Northern Argentina. Comparison to Countries Close to and Further from the Equator

    Author : Graciela Tonello; Institutionen för arkitektur och byggd miljö; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Environmental technology; temperature.; seasonal affective disorder; sadness; personality; mood; light; latitude; indoor lighting; chronobiology; circadian rhythms; pollution control; Miljöteknik; kontroll av utsläpp; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Abstract : The main problems in this thesis concern the impact of seasonal variations in daylight and ambient temperature on people's mood and the prevalence of various symptoms related to seasonal affective disorder. Questions are also raised about the role of the indoor environment and of the individual's personality as moderators of such an impact. READ MORE
