  1. 6. Synthesis and Tuning of Multifunctional Materials at High Pressure

    Author : Lei Liu; Peter Lazor; Roland Mathieu; Guoyin Shen; Viktor Struzhkin; Ronald Miletich-Pawliczek; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; double perovskite; multiferroic; bandgap engineering; high-entropy alloy; high pressure; Geovetenskap med inriktning mot mineralogi; petrologi och tektonik; Earth Science with specialization in Mineral Chemistry; Petrology and Tectonics;

    Abstract : At the present stage, human society is developing at an unprecedented speed, facing an emergence of highly pressing challenges, e.g., information explosion, energy production problems, environmental pollution, climate problems. Functional materials with tailored properties are considered as holding a key to solving these problems. READ MORE

  2. 7. Surface Charge Dynamics on Polymeric Insulating Materials for High Voltage Applications

    Author : Shahid Alam; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; HVDC insulation.; gas neutralization; decay rate; Surface charging; electrical conductivity; surface potential; charge transport; ambient pressure;

    Abstract : To meet increasing demands in electric energy, it is essential to enhance production of electricity from renewable energy sources (solar, wind and hydro). Such generation sites, however, are usually separated from consumption sites by long distances. READ MORE

  3. 8. Interfaces In Hydraulic Pressure Energy Harvesters

    Author : Jesus Javier Lechuga Aranda; Bengt Oelmann; Sebastian Bader; Olfa Kanoun; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : The fourth industrial revolution is here and with it a tidal wave of challenges for its prosperous implementation. One of the greatest challenges frustrating the development of the internet of things, and hence the next industrial revolution, is the powering of wireless sensors, as these depend on batteries with a limited lifetime. 4. 9. Atomic Layer Deposition and Immobilised Molecular Catalysts Studied by In and Ex Situ Electron Spectroscopy

    Author : Payam Shayesteh; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Ambient pressure XPS; Catalysis; Heterogenisation; Atomic layer deposition; HfO2; Gas phase; TDMAHf; TDMAT; Fysicumarkivet A:2019:Shayesteh;

    Abstract : The research work that I describe in my thesis deals with three different heterogenisation approaches for synthesising a heterogeneous transition metal catalyst used for direct C-H activation reactions. The three heterogenisation approaches considered in my research are: (1) heterogenisation of a molecular catalyst on a polymer support using covalent bonds, (2) heterogenisation of a catalyst on a reduced graphene oxide (rGO) support using non-covalent interactions and (3) immobilisation of a catalyst on an inorganic surface using covalent bonds and encapsulation in an inorganic matrix.
